Brother, you are worth your weight in Gold! My son just copped a Benson Ibanez sig guitar for a great price, but is scratching his head with the avalanche of Books - PDF's and tutorials out there... this a great incremental way up, and he knows and loves some of these tunes, too!

70 y/o guitar player here. One climbs a staircase from the bottom to the top. There is no starting in the middle or anywhere else but the bottom. Skipping steps is foolish and may necessitate remedial action, meaning: wastes your time. Guitar is not an easy instrument. Relax and realize the journey is never ending, no matter your skill level. The guitar is always 100% honest. You may fool yourself, but you will never fool the instrument. Just be happy and take the journey one step at a time or you will fail. Guaranteed.

I agree completely. I play well because I've been at it for almost 60 years. But I took way too many wrong turns along the way. One of the first jazz tunes I had to learn at Berklee was All the Things You Are. That was way beyond my abilities at the time.

Nice sound out of that Peerless. What strings are you using?
@GeorgeHessMusic13 сағат бұрын
I use GHS Brite Flats, Medium Gauge. The are burnished rather than tape wound. The last forever and are less expensive than other popular jazz strings. Johnny Smith used to use a similar string by La Bella. When they stopped making them, he bought up all he could find.

Dude, if all of your demos are cutaways, why do you hold that guitar the entire time? As a prop?
@GeorgeHessMusic13 сағат бұрын
Because I record the demos at the same time I record the narratives. I just switch cameras. I hope you got more out of the video than that.

Honestly speaking, I did not learn anything from your lesson. Totally waste of time. You talk too much instead of teaching. Your title doesn’t match your video. I was looking forward to this but it was a total waste of time

Honestly speaking, I don’t think you understood the title of the video. Merry Christmas!
