The best Pat Metheny jazz album is Question & Answer. That's one of the best jazz trio albums of all time, in my humble opinion. Thanks a lot for sharing your list, Mr. Zimmerman!

Very nicely done Brian!.....a few things i'd add to your discourse are these: anyone seeking Wes "Smokin' at the Half Note" album would be advised to seek the "complete" Smokin version(released long after the original album)....the music not included in the original deserves to be heard as its stunning.....one other thought is that there are Smithsonian recordings of Charlie C playing at Minton's and another Harlem club afterhours that showcase Christian streching out and truly reveal his influence on music to follow....SEEK IT OUT!!!!!
