Jimmy Herring is just plain disgusting...I've been a big fan of him for over 20 years now and I must say that his JID stuff is my favorite. His raw power and etc. and the energy is there. Stuff you can't teach. The pure heart!!

Yeah, his command of carrying the melody really blossomed with these guys. I have a hard time listening to Dead music any other way now without this level of musicianship.

I'm glad you liked it. Hopefully some other Jimmy and Apt. Q258 fans will stumble across it and get some enjoyment from it. I checked out a bunch of your videos. You've definitely got some chops yourself, keep up the good work. I have another JID show from their first tour in '98 with the original lineup. It's just that the audio isn't as good as the 9:30 club. I'll post that at some point, but I think I wanna upload stuff with decent audio first.

Steve InVB I have 2 more and both are at the boathouse. I went to the show at Rogues, that's funny you mention that. I thought I recorded that one too, but if I did, I can't find it. That was the night I was able to hang out with Jimmy for a few after the show with some friends. The one I'm working on now is the original lineup, with a special treat... Oteil was in town for a Bass workshop that day and sat in for a bit with the band. If you were there, I'm sure you remember. Burbridge and Johnson on the same stage, whew. I'm not happy about the hot spots in the audio, but I guess it's still worth it to upload...

I was at this show. I remember Cobham and Sipe blew me away. Jimmy is great but I had seen him many times before so it wasn't novel.

I'm glad you found the show. I remember it like it was yesterday. But just to set the record straight, the lineup that night didn't include Billy Cobham. He was part of the original lineup of Lavitz, Johnson, and Herring. That night it was Sipe and Rod Morgenstein of Winger and Dixie Dregs fame.
