This is a good album. Jimmy Herring really tears it up on guitar.

Yesterday (5-16-22) I discovered this album and heard it for the first time. In their heyday I had known about Jazz Is Dead, but never sought them out. Well, I'm 61 years old & I LOVE this music. My dad introduced me to jazz at an early age, probably before I was ten years old. My oldest brother brought home the Dead albums (again, around the same time), and played them on dad's stereo. My first exposure to Jimmy Herring was through Phil Lesh and Friends and the man is a dynamo. Anyways, love this line up and the music. And thank you for posting this album!

I discovered these guys through my passion for the Dixie Dregs (and T Lavitz). I saw them on this tour in Winston-Salem, NC and was thoroughly blown away. Jimmy Herring is like Steve Morse but with more soul. Thanks for posting!

This is simply remarkable!! Thank you Tommy CS!! Been a fan of Cobham for 42 years, and Alphonso Johnson same thing, but I have never heard of this band. This is blowing my mind. Good Heavens this is wicked!! You have just made my August holiday weekend perfect here in Ontario, Canada.

Jazz is Dead was my introduction to the music of Grateful Dead. So now, when I hear vocal renditions if these songs I always think to myself, "that's not the way it goes". Weird, right?

Apparently Dead and company are using John Meyer in the Jerry Garcia guitar chair....Jimmy Herring should have been the obvious choice....Meyer is good....but nowhere near as good as Herring
@JUANCARPENTERO2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. John Mayer was probably the worst possible person they could have picked when you consider the other options. For reference I only discovered Herring today via Aquarium Rescue Unit and in this one day alone I know he's 10000x better guitar player than Mayer

@@JUANCARPENTERO - but come 4 am at the diner, John gets the check, lol.

'John Mayer was probably the worst possible choice' and you just discovered Aquarium Rescue today (two months ago), I will just politely ignore your opinion on it. JH & JM are both outstanding, or maybe you, SAKI S, should have auditioned for the spot.

Nothing in the world you say can convince me that John Mayer doesn't suck. His voice sucks, his guitar playing is totally soulless. I cringe every single time I hear him. I'd rather see the world's worst Dead cover band (which may actually be Dead and Co 🤣)
