I'm the runner CapnClever mentiones in Dreempipes 1 after the trick at 31:55. Congratulations to CapnClever for an amazing time of 30:39. You chose aggressive strategies I didn't expect in a marathon -- all three damage boosts in Crysilis 2 without taking health. But you clearly have the skill to back it up! Excellent run.

I've been waiting for a good showing of Jazz Jackrabbit 1 on a GDQ, and CapnClever delivers perfectly! Excellent run, with great commentary and a great time to boot!

The second game was where my childhood was at. Me and my best friend pvp and going through story, good time. Unfortunately he died young. Hope that no one else have to experience that too.

I was so sad I missed this, grew up playing the Shareware version of Jazz Jackrabbit. I remembered that this was the first game I played when my family got the Sound Blaster 16, hearing the awesome music and jamming out to Diamondus! Such nostalgia

JJ2 is my jam. cool to see how much of it came from the first game
@MensaCramps6 жыл бұрын
You deserved a bigger audience than 6 people. Jazz Jackrabbit was (and is) an awesome game and should have had a bigger crowd to watch it be crushed. JJ was the JAM on my 486 Window 3.1 "IBM compatible" PC back in the day.

Love seeing a speedrun of this game! Those first two episodes, and Holiday Hare, were my jam when I was a kid, and I can still practically run through them with my eyes closed. Sooo much fun to just race through the level. That's probably the closest I'll ever get to being a speedrunner, lol. Only thing is at 31:19...the turtles are just for flavor. They don't do anything to hurt you or slow you down, if I remember correctly. So I dunno why you'd need to keep spamming.
@simonn44116 жыл бұрын
Besides the neutral turtles, each platform here has one slug enemy. We want to shoot the slug. Because the turtles absorb Jazz's bullets, we fire more bullets to compensate. :-)

Isn't the 9 episode version horribly broken in a few levels?
@reptiliansamurai3 жыл бұрын
@@keiyakins it's the version I had. I had to cheat to get through Orbitus. Only years later did I learn that the level was actually broken in that version!

I like the a lot, the music its so good, and the physics of the game are better too, i mean, it has things such like inertia and friction when you attack enemies for example, that was very advanced for the time, besides, it has more smooth movement
@UltimatePerfection8 жыл бұрын
The only things better about JJ2 are JCS and multiplayer. Main campaign is way too easy and the levels are very empty at times and quite uninspired compared to JJ1. Also I like look of "chibi Jazz" of JJ1 better.
@UltimatePerfection7 жыл бұрын
I don't mind zoomed out thing in JJ2. Actually it did made it a little bit better as in first JJ if you don't keep shooting as you'll keep going you'll find yourself dead FAST. What I DO mind however, is that the levels are fucking empty. There's little to nothing going on in most. Granted, some levels (Alice in Wonderland ones in particular unless I misremembering those) are better, but most are not.

Did this game rip off Sonic or vice versa?
@paulgraves13926 жыл бұрын
Actually the game was inspired by both Zool and Sonic.
