This was one of my favorite tracks of all time. This was the first storytelling rap songs that truly gave me a clear image in my mind of what was happening within the story. I do believe the music video actually takes away from the track, it is much more gruesome and detailed when it is left to the imagination.

couldn’t agree more. In my head the story is way better than that video

I'm glad you got to see a small bit of the diversity one can find in rap, from the sampling, to the tone, to the style, to the delivery.

This was one of my favorite throwback songs when I was a kid. The story is so vivid in my mind, and it was a fun ride even tho it ends sadly

I can’t believe I never realized think this was a sample off Nautilus. Nautilus is the gift that keeps on giving. Testament to the genuine of Bob James.

I love Slick Rick's tone ... always know it's him. Great storytelling.

i think slick ricks voice and delivery is so cool and idk how to say it but maybe his voice makes the words sound very legable when he raps..i think if you repeat it yourself and try to rap like him youll like it more..he has like a playboy voice..and style his writing was very good compared to other rappers at the time i feel.

I wonder if he mentions this was the sample for "This is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan and Slick Rick is actually cameoed in that song. If not, now ya know.

This song is definitely more about the lyrics than the voice and some rap songs are just like that and personally I love this song

You should react to the new Joji song, "glimpse of us". He is still improving rapidly as a vocalist and an artist

The album version of this song is so much better than what they did for this video.. So much unnecessary stuff in the audio for the video.. Thanks for posting, I've come to appreciate your thoughts on music...
