STP is one of my favorite bands from this genre/era. I loved them when they released their first album and I love them now. You should check out their live performance in Chicago. Best vocals I’ve ever heard from Scott Weiland.

When I was growing up and songs such as this one was playing on the ancient radio, I thought a song's meaning was what the writer had intended, and only as the writer intended... But then you start to grow up and attach these songs to yesteryear and what the song "meant" was now defined as what I was doing when I used to listen to it at one point in time with the people who mattered... Sometimes a song hits you as intended by the writer, but honestly, not just art (but especially art) but life itself, is up to interpretation Had to add...I might be tripping but you're missing part of the song... There's a guitar solo in the song

Their first album is at the bottom of the list for me among the first five. Purple and Tiny Songs in particular blow it out of the water. Same thing with Pearl Jam's 90s albums---their first was the weakest.

This is a band I’ve listened to from the beginning, but learned to appreciate them more as time has gone on. They were always lumped in with the Seattle grunge bands. Hard to compete with the likes of AiC, SG, and PJ, but these guys were just as good
