Great set-up (hands, fingers, chords), easy to follow and a terrific way for me this mind-blowing, eery, dreamy tune from the incredible Bill Evans. 2 possible improvments : a way to download the viewed sheet (wonder if that's possible with a paid account) - and another version - based on Bill Evan's actual rendition which is in A i think - and which is the version everyone thinks about.

It's right, I didn't hear the bass notes in Bill Evans's version.

At around 3:47 it says that the 3rd is substituted for the fourth, when I think it is meant to say the opposite: in a "sus" chord the 4th is substituted for the 3rd. Excellent tutorial, and beautifully played, too. Thanks.
@PianoGroove8 жыл бұрын
Yes with sus voicings, the 3rd is generally omitted in place of the 4th. However it is possible to voice a sus chord with both the major 3rd and the suspended 4th. I have created a 23 minute tutorial on sus chords. It's part of the PianoGroove Pro course, you can watch the lesson overview here: www.pianogroove.com/jazz-piano-lessons/understanding-sus-chords/ - Hope this helps, PianoGroove

Note this is in Bb Major but Bill Evans recorded it in A, so listening to Bill Evans first is a bit confusing for a beginner.

I did not look though all the comments so I am not sure if anyone pointed this out but your score shows Ebm7 to Abm7 but you play Ebm7 to Ab7 (the dominant chord). Is the score just incorrect with that change? Thanks (Great lessons)

Jesus. You stop and hang around a chord so long going back and forth till nobody knows what the hell YOURE doing anymore.
@ThePianoMan19537 жыл бұрын
+Mickey V. ... Ha…ha… you say “he hangs around so NOBODY knows what he's doing”? So, you’ve appointed yourself "spokesperson" for EVERYBODY?? HA…HA…. Let me give you a clue. If there are 99 overwhelmingly grateful and respectful accolades and YOU are the ONLY NEGATIVE comment? Then, most likely, the problem isn’t with everybody…… The problem is YOU. You remind me of a spoiled freeloader on KZbin who wants everything for nothing… then complains. This is one of the finest jazz piano player/educators on the Internet. You are obviously a rude, selfish and ignorant fool.
