I was there a few nights later. Oscar did a week there in October of 86. Maybe two. I remember the World Series happening at the time. Got an autograph too! Was a magical night!

how politics work.....last time i visited downtown ottawa a statue of terry fox was on the sidewalk outside the fenced parliament hill compound and oscar peterson's monument features the pianist seated beside a piano, sort of a metallic sculpture ensemble. oscar is also on a side walk and a street corner outside the national arts centre or n eh cee as it also known. someone decided to add two tiny outddoor speakers to that ensemble that blast random tunes.
