The AIDS epidemic wiped out an entire generation of artists, writers,,actors. The loss was staggering.

And even more than that, it gave an excuse for the unstoppable come back of conservative morals and the reduction of freedom. Ever since every year there are a couple of new "you shouldn't do this, you must not do that". The list got very long, 2020-2021 being the highlight of this evolution.

I am glad Rudolph Nureyev, got to return home to Russia before his mother's death. It is a sad story. But, I am glad we have been able to hear it.

Such a shame that treatment for this horrid virus didn't come in time for Nureyev. He has left his artistic legacy behind great

such a shame that ppl cannot resort to GOD'S DEVINE LAW: "male and female he made them" .. those disobedient pay the price .. including Nureyev .. a most stunning looking, ultimately talented man .. one who sacrificed his immense, God given talent on the altar of sin ........ it still is nearly impossible for me to wrap my mind around this .... this is how absurd and grotesque it is ....

It's really difficult in the middle of a story, when there is no translation. I can read only two languages and Russian is not one of them.

Starting at about 5:00 they're speaking in another language, and there is no subtitling. And the closed captioning is so horrible that it's funny, spelling words phonetically. Wish I knew what people were saying.

4:52-5:58 Rezida says: “He was nervous for sure. It’s been 26 years since we saw each other... we were standing right here, waiting for people to come out. And he (Rudy) came out through the hall. He turned to us and we embraced each other, he gave us flowers... i came to his hotel to take him to mom’s place. He wanted to see mom, so here we were. Rudolf was really upset seeing mom like that. She was very ill, she was paralyzed. She couldn’t quite talk. We sat for a while and then left.” Maybe not quite accurate but i hope it helps:)

Much memorabilia and original costumes exist to this day in West Yorkshire UK. Happy to say what I know about that. Auctions at both Paris and New York were attended and many purchases were made including conductors batons from a jam jar. My partner and I wished to display but insurance value that was impossible to place made it impossible. I hope the right person reads this and contacts to follow up..

How do you expect us to understand his Russian relatives and friends, when English is our first language? Where are the subtitles?

I even tried the Closed Captioning and, as usual, it's horrid. Trust me, she never said things like "vanna banana," etc. Closed Captioning is always terrible.
