I played this actual horn at the 2020 NAMM show. Take Trent's word for it...it is a truly amazing instrument. The best I've ever played actually. I hope at this point it has found a loving home.

That finish is amazing. I love the shine over the antiqued look, as opposed the the matte finish on my horn.

I’m not even a trumpet player, but I love that so much.

After just discovering Thomas Gansch I ended up at this video. Lots of comments on the horn, for good reason, but not enough kudos for you own playing! Very nice!

Superb tone. (I have a (Soviet) Russian trumpet with similar piston to rotary valves).

Hi! Thanks for the Insights. I am still thinking about getting a Ganschhorn. Let me just ask: Which kind of mouthpiece are you playing?

An Austin Custom Brass one 😎

Hey trent, your trumpet has a flat tire lol. What a strange looking horn. It looks like a piece of art.

Does the curvature of that trumpet cause it time to be stuffy ? ....it’s beautiful regardless.
@austincustom4 жыл бұрын
not at all... the horn does have a slightly smaller bore but that is typical of a rotary trumpet. I think the horn feels wonderful!

Really like that sound. I couldn't tell if it were 50 years old or new!😜

Dear Trent, what is the name of that beautiful finish - vintage finish? Is that the Vienna Model, the Hörsdorf Model or the Hörsdorf Heavy Model? Cheers Michael in Sweden
@austincustom3 жыл бұрын
The new Ganschhorn models are just light and Heavy. It's been so long I can't remember if it was a heavy or light model since I recorded this video

Trent let me ask you, why are you not regularly use this horn when playing gigs? Already for a while it seems to me that this horn supports trumpet work at its best. Your answer maybe could get me a more complete sight on this for sure amazing trumpet.

I actually owned one for a bit in gold plate but decided on sticking with my Adams as Miel Adams is one of my dear friends. Both horns are incredible as well as their companies. That's one of the reasons we are so proud to be able to sell them at ACB!

That is one gorgeous horn! My question is, it looks like it would be easy to play left-handed; I play most brass instruments left-handed since recovering from my car crash, with more or less success. (This is why my double horn is my current favorite.)
@Dabaka934 жыл бұрын
Thomas Gansch regularly plays it in a left handed way :)

I have a question: do i need to have the same rim mouthpiece for trumpet and flugelhorn?
@austincustom4 жыл бұрын
That really depends on how sensitive you might be but I do play the same rim on TPT or FLG.

I hate to disagree, but uh, back in 1978 or '79 my Bach Strad bumped off the back off my moped on the way to a rehearsal at SEMO...and well, the case came open & it suffered a trauma resulting in the REAL first Ganschhorn del boulevard el traumatosa(!) BTRW - any instrumentalists watching this - make NO Mistake - the trumpet is the KING of instruments!
