So melancholy and even more so because I'd been away from jazz circles for a long while and didn't know that he had passed until now. Beautiful tone.

Dexter Gordon once said " in order to play a ballad, you must know the songs lyrics". These musicians obviously know the lyrics very well...

I went to Newport festival twice around early 2000's. 3 days were like $3000 for 2 people (hOTEL, FOOD TICKETS ETC..). I got the feeling this was more of "I went there event ", more than a jazz music lovers situation. I had a great time, but it wasn't "Jazz on a Summer's day".

I want a Inderbinin "Wood" flugelhorn. Won't make me sound like Sir Roy but hell it can't hurt. That is a horn he hasn't parted ways with since getting it. Oh and that you for the footage!

The piano guy is playing too much!! Bit anoying the way he hammers (heavy hands!)... adding every time, an "extra" note in the same chord, over and over (good comping is quite an art!!)

Audience composition varies according to where the musicians perform. No big deal.
