I did this the exact way and my hair lasted 3 months. and when the ends were sticking out, I realized the braid was too big. tie the ends with rubber bands. I just took them down and tomorrow I get some more

You could probably start off with the braid, but twist the rest of the way down. I did some twists like that. Partially braiding then twisting helped cut down on time significantly.

When I first learned this method (4 yrs ago) I feel in love with it I’d admit I’m really slow it takes me 6 hrs to install due to tired arms and breaks.
