Studio One 6.2: Create Folder & Bus - We have waited for this feature for years!

That's very handy as I always match folders with busses. Saves me a little trip down the menu to find it! I used to have a memory aid to remember the order - 'You have to pack before you get on the bus!' 😊🙄 No need for that any more.... 🙏

We've also waited for the "Stop transport on end marker" for a long time but in typically laughable Presonus fashion where it's two steps forward, one step back, when you activate the function to stop the song playing at the end marker, then the end marker becomes the new start time . So if you have it set up that when you stop the transport, it snaps back to wherever it was you had as the starting measure, letting it play until the end marker stops the transport so that when you press play again, it starts playing from the end marker! Ahahahahahah I swear, I've said it for years and no one will ever convince me otherwise but I'm certain no one at presonus actually ever uses the DAW they program.

i was hoping that this would include "Add Send to Selected track" I'm trying to have a macro that adds an reverb to the selected track as well as route the track to the new reverb fx channel.. still can't do this, correct?

Hey Lukas super tolles Feature ich werde mich sobald ich ein paar freie Tage habe in die Makros reinarbeiten. Eine Frage hätte ich jedoch mal die schon lange unbeantwortet im Forum steht. Gibt es eine Planung dafür um Studio One und Izotope RX über das RX Connect Plugin kompatibel zu machen, seit Jahren funktioniert das nicht und ich frage mich langsam ob es da irgendein technischen Grund für gibt. Es würde den Workflow ungemein verbessern und ich denke das RX von sehr vielen Leuten eingesetzt wird. Feature Request !

Hi, das freut mich! Zu deiner Frage: Ich kann und darf ja über zukünftige Planung überhaupt nicht sprechen. PreSonus gibt ja generell keinerlei Infos über zukünftige Entwicklungen, die noch nicht öffentlich sind, also selbst wenn ich dazu etwas wüsste, dürfte ich darüber nicht sprechen. Über RX Connect weiß ich leider auch zu wenig, um die Anwendung genau zu verstehen. Warum muss Studio One hier etwas tun, damit RX Connect funktioniert?

@@studioonetutorials Hey klar, dass kann ich verstehen aber vielleicht kann man die Info weiter geben. RX-Connect ist ein Plugin das zu dem Izotope Rx-Audio Editor gehört. Man lädt das Plugin Rx Connect in seiner Daw und kann dann direkt Audio ohne zu exportieren in RX übertragen und dort dann seine Bearbeitung vornehmen und dann über Rx-Connect das bearbeitete Audiofile direkt in die Daw zurück senden. Aktuell muss ich jedes mal meine Vocals exportieren, durch Rx senden zum editieren und sie dann manuell wieder importieren in Studio One, dass kostet sehr viel Zeit und macht den Workflow schwierig. In anderen Daw's läuft RX Connect seit langem problemlos und es würde für jeden Nutzer der irgendetwas in RX bearbeiten möchte den Workflow ungemein erleichtern. Man könnte dann somit also ähnlich wie bei Revoice Pro direkt Audio hin und her senden ohne das Exportieren. Yep, it was possible by using a macro hack that someone once uploaded to PreSonus Exchange. The macro could not be created inside Studio One but only by externally manipulating the XML. So you could only use it by using or duplicating the existing macro.

It seems that the created folder with an added Bus/VCA ist not selected after firing the macro, so no further macro/action can be applied without clicking the track/channel once.

@@wolfgerpop-borg1842 It seems you're right. The new bus channel should be selected in order to add effects in the same macro. Currently "Add Insert to Selected Channels" fails because the bus channel is not selected. Maybe this can be improved with an update.

Color should be possible with the "Set Color of Selected Tracks" command. The Track Icon can't be changed in a macro. This would need a new command for that. Or maybe if you save a Folder as a Track Preset and recall this Track Preset via a macro. But even then there's no way to move selected tracks into an existing Folder without an add-on like Scoring Tools. I haven't tested it. Maybe a "Set Track Icon of Selected Tracks" would be good to have...

Not sure if that's what you mean but in 6.2 if you use the Listen Bus, you can (and need to) enable the metronome for the Listen Bus separately in the mixer.

I'm sorry to say, but this was already possible, I have been using it for about a year already. I made a macro for it about a year ago and also added naming to it. My macro looks like this: Track|Pack folder Track|Add Bus (now it says bus for folder track, but I can assure you it was already there and you missed it, or it was just Add Bus, but it was working) - Track|show in console - Navigation|Right (i don't know why I added that) - Navigation|Left (i don't know why I added that) Console|Rename Channel (this last one is really handy to add, it saves one click, you get automatically a prompt to rename the channel. (I already updated to 6.2 before I saw you video, but I can assure you 100% that it was already possible)

No need to be sorry, you're welcome to start a technical discussion with one of the original developers of Studio One's Macro Toolbar :-) As I say in the video, this was not possible before without a macro hack. The "Add Bus for Folder Track" command was not accessible when creating a new macro from scratch. Try it out in 6.1.2 ;-) The only way to use this command was by editing or duplicating an existing macro that was created by manipulating the XML structure with a text editor.

@@frankwalders If you want, you can install 6.1 (you can install it side by side with 6.2, no need to use Time Machine). But I believe you that you have used the macro. But I'm also very sure that you did not have access to this command other than with a XML-manipulated (hacked) macro file that already referenced the command.

I'm assuming that Presonus is chasing the dot-to-dot 'DJ/producer' who is playing around with loops and samples rather than the serious musicians and artistes. I've come from Pro Tools recording live vocals and musicians where a scrub tool was vital for quick precision editing. I now have to bounce anything of this nature back into PT just to get this done which is ridiculous. Otherwise I have to fudge it on S1. It just doesn't have microscopic editing and adjustment like the scrub tool in PT. I don't get it.
