This was helpful. I'm one of those who accidentally return to the start position way too often lol. I've been searching for an 'undo move playback position' but of course that doesn't exist, but you have given me ideas for workarounds that might be suitable. Thank you!!!!!

For 10 years I just want the spacebar with Start/Stop (back to the beginning) and parallel (optionally) the "Return key" with "Stop here" (Pause). I was really hoping you had solved the problem, but for my workflow it doesn't work. But you gave me the idea to build a macro that first turns "Return To start on Stop" =OFF, then "Strict" =1 and finally "Return To start on Stop" ON again. Now it works!😃🤗 Still, I don't understand why the PAUSE function isn't in there anyway.

THANK YOU so much Lukas. I've watched your video 10 times trying to sort out a stop function issue I've been annoyed with since leaving Cubase 5 years ago. Can you (or someone here) help figure out how to tell S1 (6) to stop returning to zero on third click of 'NumPad0'?

You can do this with the "Locate Selection" and "Move to Cursor" commands. But a "Sync Events" command will be part of an upcoming update of Studio One Scoring Tools.

Would there be a way to create a macro that returns to the start position regardless of wether the song is currently playing or not? You macro currently only works when the song is still playing, so you always have to think 'can I use it or can I not use it'. I guess the only way to solve this would be a conditional macro... If the song is playing the macro should trigger Stop twice, and if the song has already been stopped/paused, then only once. I think this can't be done. Or is there a way?

Very useful video. I wonder if there is a way to NOT make the cursor jump when I manipulate a midi note. that is driving me bonkers..

Thanks. Turning off Wrench -> Cursor follows Edit Position should do the job.

Yes, if your MIDI controller has a foot controller input that can send MIDI CC data, then you can assign any command to that. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6G5eKaXrNaBZq8

Isn't there a command to make it jump to a specific flag if those are active in the arranger view?

Okay - yes, it's possible to jump to a specific marker, but there are some limitations. It depends on if you want to recall the selected marker, or a specific marker by number, or by name. The former are possible (selected + by number), recalling by name (for example the marker with the name "Chorus 1") is not possible currently.
