I have a Hibino 2024 that I didn´t use this year so I redated it for 2025. I also have this OX KNIGHT cover and it fits with plenty room for it to chunk up. So glad this info is getting out there for those of us wanting a cover for our hibino :)

I purchased a Midori this year instead of a A6 Hobonichi and I’m excited but also nervous with what kind of a layout I want to use …. Once I figure that out I’m hoping to really like it in the long run

I must admit the Midori planners are a bit intimidating, but I love them so much 😭🤣! I always stick to how I usually plan when using bullet journals, and that works for me. Whatever you decide to do though, I hope you love it. ❤️

I bought my first Hibino to use for 2025 & haven’t yet decided if I want/need a cover for it since I’ll only use it as my journal at home, but this video is really helpful if I do decide to get one! I’ve seen the Ox Knight covers for a while but didn’t knew if I would dare to order one since I hadn’t seen anyone else talking about them, but now I’m feeling a lot more calm about it since you’ve made such a good video about it 😊 May I ask how the cover & planner have held up now when the year is almost over? Would you recommend this combo, as a whole? 😊

@wegotthepower Hi! The midori hibino is a tough book. Binding is solid, though I haven't personally pushed my binding to bits limit, I have seen extremely chunky hibinos and could tell the binding was good. Midori doesn't disappoint, so no worries there. For this OX Knight cover, they are absolutely lovely. I love the feel of them much better than the moterm. They are of great quality if you're looking to try them. They provide for a roomy fit, so I found it good for the hibino since it was a chunky book. All in all, the setup (book and cover) is really nice and held perfectly throughout the year.

Well, since I don't use it for planning at all, the book has held up pretty well. Though Midori planners have really good binding and can withstand a little stress. The cover that I purchased is one from Amazon. The brand is called OX Knight. What is the scent of the leather like? I have had a couple of Moterms and I did not like the scent of the leather at all. It definitely smelled not like leather and very chemical. I would love to try Ox Knight, but I am worried it will smell the same as the Moterm.

Hi! Sorry for such a late response. It does have a smell, but it's not as strong as the Moterm covers. Good thing about Amazon is if you buy it, you can definitely return it lol. I think the smell is mild, though. I hope that this helps.❤️❤️

A6 cover... will NEVER lay flat open... That's because to construct this cover, the outside piece of leather MUST be slightly larger than the inside piece -- that's in order for both pieces to fit 'together' around the book insert.

If you take 2 pieces of any product, and wrap them around a book, the outer piece, has to be bigger, for its edges to be even with the inner piece. The thicker the book, the bigger that outer piece has to be, hence the "bubbling" in the covers. I'm not sure what the industry stand is for covers, but I do know that when we make a men's bi-fold wallet, the outside leather is almost 1/2 inch larger than the inside. So your moterm isn't made wrong, it's just too small.

Hi Lauraschimmel1628! Yes, I completely agree with the cover needing to be bigger to accommodate the thicker books. I was actually following up to the suggested claims that the Moterm A6+ covers, actually fitting the Hibino, since it is slightly bigger than there A6 regular and states that it fits Midori planners. I also have the Hibino for 2023, and it fit the A6+ olive cover from Moterm a little tight but not like the mustard cover. I was confused when the fit with the mustard cover was different for the 2024 Hibino. I know everyone has there suggested A6 standard size and can be different for the planner community, but I was testing this theory again with Moterm as they specifically made a bigger a6+ to accommodate thicker books. Just not the Hibino in this case. This led me to believe that maybe I got a bad cover because my back cover didn't lay the same way as the olive cover from Moterm. None the less, you're correct. The Moterm is too small. I wanted to clear the air and share the fit because there are claims that the Moterm fits the Hibino when, in fact, it does not. Thanks for providing feedback/commenting!
