Hi Susie, Sorry for such a late response. KZbin didn't notify me. It's definitely possible to upgrade to bigger rings. lol, I know it's sometimes a hassle, but the filofax domino covers are perfect for replacing the rings because they don't have a backplate. If you feel like you're up for the challenge, good luck. I know you'll love the bigger size.

How did you change the rings? Is there a sleeve inside this one that you insert the new rings or you actually had to poke through the plastic in the back?

Hi Julie! The moterm 30mm rings line up with the filofax ring mechanism. This has no backing with a plate so it was actually easy somewhat, you have to break the rivets in the filofax rings in order to replace the small rings with larger ones. You just use screws to hold the rings in place think of the filofax original and how it's made. There is a video I found that can better show how to replace the rings that is exact to the method I just described. Look up changing rings in filofax original and it will give a better example. For the rough rings, I have used my fingernail file as a quick smoother for rough edges. See if it helps.

@@LifeWithMJB I got the idea from Carie Harling who used the file to sharpen or ease her pen points. So I thought why not use it on rough rings. Hope it helps. Be blessed.

Also if you have an electric nail filer or even electric grinder for callouses, that is another option.
