One silver lining is that an injury of this caliber is a fitting end to his career. He was always the don’t let go until they stomp you loose type of old school cowboy that doesn’t exist anymore. His career ended in a way that matched his toughness perfectly. His grit and attitude are what people will remember j.b. Mauney for.

He had a humble laid back attitude, too. A hard working man.

That's how you're supposed to ride. Not looking off or impressing anyone.

J.B. was the reason I started watching bull riding. My sister and I texted during his riding just to share the marvelous moments of his rides. God bless you J.B. We're going to miss hearing Bad to the Bone but are so happy you are alive.

Great video of a gifted talent! Annnnd toward the end he was riding with a busted leg! Talk about "never quit"! His style of riding to next-to-none!! Time to mentor the up n' comers, JB, and show 'em how to do it right!!!! Your style will be missed!!

The first time I saw JB ride I was in 8th grade. I'm 32 now, so I'd say he's had a pretty good run. Gonna be different without him. The last of a dying breed.

He rode with Class and he Went Out With Class. A True Rodeo Legend, that we'll not see the likes of any time soon

Heard he broke his neck this year during a bull ride. I don’t know what exactly happened but I know that his bull riding career is over. Because if he were to break his neck again, he’d die. It’s really unfortunate, but that’s the risk when it comes to the sport of rodeo.

Jagger break out the fishing poles, call Leroy, Dale, and Donnie pack the coolers with cold drinks. Get moma to make some sandwichs, grab the cookies and chips. It's time you and dad, and maybe a few of your dads freinds hit the lake fishing......

I'm Dale Brisby the best to ever do it, with JB as my mentor. I'm a humble man but you won't hear me brag
