LOVE that there are no position marker dots on the fingerboard! A nice, clean look.

I’ve got one of the original JB models and it’s a beauty. Small but big sound. No muddy tones in this guitar. They are made in Japan with care and precision.

I see these and the D'Aquisto Jim Halls frequently for sale in Tokyo. These and the D'aquisto are very similar, are made at the Terada factory near Nagoya. Quality builds.

I thought the Jim Hall model was 17"? Or was it 16"? You don't see many JB's around.

The Jim Hall I've had for 20 years is 16", made at Terada@@ericw751

@@ericw751Jim Halls are 16". Sadowsky has or had a 17" archtop, though.

A beautiful guitar. May I ask who makes that strap? Does Roger sell it? Exactly what I am looking for to replace the nylon POS I've been using. Years ago I went with the Sadowsky LS-17 for the longer scale. A truly fine guitar. But am now thinking I might go for the shorter scale and this would be the one.

you can call roger's shop between 2 and 4 pm.. roger will answer if he is not busy.. he would know more about the strap than i..i do believe you could purchase one... i have several of them. they come with a lock strap for his guitars which all have the strap locking system

the short scale is the way to go at least for me.. easiest guitar to play

I think I saw some magic tricks here, but I'm not sure what I really saw, cuz I'm back in the toll booth school for retired rockers. It seems as if it were as simple as adding an extra scale tone in the beginning of a minor-7.... or any type of 7th chord arpeggio, and you can cascade that easily up and down the neck in a flurry of fast notes....and that that's how Coltrane perhaps did it.... and also that changing the 3rd to minor 3rd in the C major pentatonic is a better sounding color than we can get from the "rock minor pentatonic shape". This stuff is just crammed full of useful information and I thought it was just gonna be a guitar demo. It takes many repeated viewings to extract all the goodness.

I try to play those Chinese pentatonics, but they all look the same.
