HOW TO Install Spacers MK8 Fiesta ST

A pretty simple modification that makes a big impact. The car has a little more road presence, looks great and appears to be slightly more stable through high speed corners. As always, I've linked to the tools and items included in the video below:

Enjoyed the video, not too sure that I would put them on mine but no doubt you did your research. I note a few comments regarding insurance being invalidated etc, which you addressed. I would only add to people living in the UK that insurance companies are always required to honour the third party .... the other car or pedestrian you come into contact with.... or walls fences etc. You could modify your car to death and not tell insurance but in the instance of a collision your insurance would cover damage / injury to the third party. However, your vehicle repairs or payment for total loss would not be covered. I would also suggest if you have gap insurance then check with them too for mods. Hope this helps everyone. 👍

I noticed you were filing at an angle, also you can damage the end of the when filing. Can I suggest, if there is a next time you leave a nut on the stud use a flapper disc on a grinder to shorten the stud. Taking the nut off will clean the thread. Also copper grease would be advisable, on the brake disc face as the alloy face and brake disc face are dissimilar metals and when the brake disc corrodes it can stick to the aluminium. Other than that good work 👍. P. S. People beware to wide and you can catch your tyre on the wheel arch, any rubbing could cut into your tyre. 😳

What about a bit of copperslip between the spacer, wheel and hub?

Stephen Golds You can, although some say you shouldn’t use it near alloys. Perhaps between the hub and the spacer but as you can see I chose not to use it. Most important is to ensure the face of the hub is clear. I’ll let you know if I have any issues!

Nice vid, though for my taste 20mm front and rear gives too much poke. Perhaps for me 15mm rear and 10 - 12 mm on the front if available. But thats just my personal pref. Great videos as always!

Exuberant driving tends to go out the window when you fit spacers like this. Has your tyres hit your arches under compression ? Some people use negative camber but that causes other problems. Noticed any wheel bearing issues due to extra leverage/pressure created by using spacers? I learnt the hard way to stick to OEM specs unless you have a genuine reason to deviate from them.

Luca Id say turn in is not quite as sharp, but the car is far far more stable at speed and through high speed corners. No longer feels twitchy which is quite nice.

Hello bro good content just a quick question about your mk8. I have purchased the same kw spings and do want to purchase these spacers aswell. As i love the stance your fiesta had mate. I just wanted to know if you had any wheel arch scraping or steering issues with these. As im reading comments about 15mm for fronts and 20mm for rears. I did like the look of your fiesta mate. 20mm on each side looks a little too much, 10mm or 15mm would look better in keeping the wheels flush to the arch. Looks good though!

@@danevanson4223 read up 1st... Spacers alter the steering geometry, particularly the scrub radius. This can effect handling and also increase wear to the wheel bearings by exerting increased leverage forces. They do look good but at a cost.

Yup not a problem. Provided you don't grind them down too much, you can remove the spacers later. You can also replace the hub bolts if required.

Surely any, or all of those upgrades/modifications (spacers, suspension, brakes, inter-cooler etc) you have performed would void your Ford New Car Warranty 🤷‍♂️

Hard to answer this to be honest as each modification has a different impact on the manufacturer warranty. For the most part, aftermarket parts have their own warranty, so if you are fully replacing the Ford part then you still have some form of warranty. In short, it's personal preference if you are willing to impact the manufacturers warranty or not.

In my country (Spain) if you put modifications in the card you can homologated them and they will be legal, and they will be incorporated in the technical data sheet of the car. I guess in other countries it will be the same.

Andrew Scott The car handled surprisingly well with these fitted. I did two track sessions with the spacers. I didn’t change the camber and they never caught the arches. Absolutely no issues to report. I’ve since changed to direct fitment alloys with a wider ET that provide a similar stance to this and the weight saving is very noticeable. 😎

Hello, what wheel size do you have? Because with 225/40/18 it hits the wheels on the fins by turning the steering wheel completely
