Subbed as soon as I saw the Legacy. Team Comanche here. Just got my own older model Green Screamer today. I heard G&L had a thing about military aircraft, that's a F86 Saber on the pedal. And evidently the Comanche was named after a attack helicopter.

Not to mention the ASAT… anti-satellite, which may have been the first one of those names ‘taking aim’ at certain satellites that TELECAST up in the STRATOSPHERE etc

@@JB_Eckl That's right! G&L are just awesome. More Fender than Fender.

Nice, you're playing my Legacy and my BBE GS2 is on it's way. Great demo, sweet room you got there, thanks.

JB, you continue to bring all the good TOANZ to the people! Plus, it helps that you got good tone in them fingers too!

Right on! Let me know what you think of it.

Yeah you’re on to something there. Boogies, especially the Mark series already have that nasally midrange honk which is why I’ve never felt the need to goose the front end. But man! That sounds amazing!
@JB_Eckl Жыл бұрын
The cool thing about the King Snake amp is you can get VERY legit Fender tones. The Mark I is really a super-charged Princeton, so if you drop the mids and close your eyes, you’re in 60s Fender land.

@ 11:56 those first couple notes and high gain tone sounds a lot like *The* *Moody* *Blues* - "The Story In Your Eyes."

That was probably a fuzz, but I hear you! What a great old tune.

Hello I have a question about your G&L Legacy. Does it have the stock CLF alnico single coils? If yes do you keep the tone pot very low? Mine sounds way too bright. Cheers
@JB_EcklАй бұрын
Yes it does. I generally don’t keep my tone lot wide open on any Strat or Tele; I prefer warmer tones overall. Check out my video on single coils; I think I demonstrate the tone control on there.

@@JB_Eckl Thank you very much for your reply. I tried to lower the tone knob to 3, and cut the highs on the amp but it was still very ice picky bright 😕

What is the color of the G&L Legacy? Emerald Blue? Thanks
@JB_Eckl Жыл бұрын
That’s just blue-Lake Placid I think? Their emerald has a real green tint to it.

Your video comes at a good time - trying to record some guitar for a friend's project (I'm basically engineering) and looking for ways to get that thick rock sound...been all over youtube looking at stuff like kzbin.info?search_query=bad+monkey

The whole Bad Monkey kerfuffle is pretty hilarious. It’s definitely not a magic box, but obviously Josh is getting a good sound out of it. Why were you checking that out in particular?
@aberteig Жыл бұрын
@@JB_Eckl the guy I'm recording is using an ancient all-in-one practice unit with a bunch of built in effects - something resembling a 1990's Boss Pocket GT. I'm trying to figure out how to reproduce the sound he wants but with a much cleaner recording. I know next to nothing about recording guitar and I've been going down the rabbit hole looking at youtube videos about all the different options out there. I dunno...not the most efficient use of time...

The only really easy way is to use an amp modeler of some kind. Like a Strymon Iridium or a PodGO. Can they afford $300 or so?
