In my hometown of Chico, CA. Sycamore Pool is often compared to Barton Springs. It is a cemented pool area with the Chico Creek flowing through it and a dam. There was so much imagination and ingenuity encouraged in earlier days - as with the moon towers too!

Another great show Jeff. When I was there in the early 70's, Barton Springs was totally different. I don't remember seeing hardly any concrete at all. The sides were determined by the actual rocky areas and you pretty much had to park in a grassy area when you visited. And yes, there were plenty of women swimming topless there even back then. It was situated out in a natural area with nothing other than trees and rocks around it. Cause now it is totally surround by buildings. Also the "Lady Bird" lake was originally called Lake Austin. So when you said "Lady Bird" I immediately questioned what you were talking about until I saw your photos and video. Lady Bird Johnson played a major part at bringing the entire State of Texas into the 20th Century. She owned 3 or 4 major radio stations in Austin for years. Thanks again for a great show!!

Jeff, I AM SO GLAD, that you did this piece on moontowers, and mentioning a movie fave of mine, "Dazed and Confused". This move was an homage to my generation, as much as "American Graffiti" and "The Last Picture Show", were homages to generations before. All comings-of-age. They very much NAILED the prototypes of people that a lot of us used to get stoned with. The hairstyles and fashions were SPOT-ON. I sorely wish that I could still wear my hair like that, down to my shoulders and beyond, but it doesn't look quite right now, with my balding pate. Sigh, oh well. And those TUNES!! Foghat, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Nazareth, Black Sabbath (I'd seen them THIRTEEN times!!), and more. Curious that they titled the movie after the ICONIC Led Zeppelin song. I'd seen Da Zepps three times, and that song could last UP TO AN HOUR, with as much as 35 minutes of Jimmy Page stropping his electric guitar with a cello bow, taking everyone to the far reaches of the Universe and beyond, by doing so. Jeff, Could you please put in your PayPal Payments Link, in the Vids' Descriptions Sections, to make that "idiot-proof"? I'm afraid that I'd muck it all up! I would like to help you and Sarah out, thank you.

Hi Jeff! Well you did it again, great video. You perked up my ears more than once as I watched the video. The moon towers were so cool. As you mentioned other cities that had them, one city was very special for me. Wabash IN. That's where my mother was from. Little trivia, Wabash claims to be the first electric lighted city in the world. Goes along with your moon tower theme. But, it was the court house that was lighted first. You totally amaze me on these videos. Well done.
