The boombox 3 is by far the best, i used to have a bb 1 and now i have the bb3. My buddy has the bb2. I compared them all. The bb3 sounds so crystal clear and has amazing detailed bass,mids and highs. This is because the bb3 is the first boombox with a real 3 way system. Meaning that the amplifier has 3 channels. 1. Tweeters 2. Mid speakers 3. Subwoofer. Yes SUBWOOFER! This thing has an actual subwoofer so offcourse the bass is better. It has 2 tweeters stacked on top the mid speakers on the left and right, and one kind of oval subwoofer in the middle.

Kulas, super review! I sometimes watch your channel, because I love JBL very much ... You WON'T believe it, but in one review on the sound level meter, Extreme gave 95.1 dB without EQ ... which is at the level of Boombox 2, this is very close! When I first picked up a gray Extreme, I really fell in love, last spring! How beautiful she is, damn... oohh))) In April 2023 I'm buying it!)) I won't wait 4 th generation, sneeze, don't care) I've never had xtreme sports... She will be the first in my life

Ok Kulas, good morning from Brazil, again. I have performed deep listening with an AKG 92 earphone - a slightly "V" shaped earphone. It just confirmed what I said earlier. The BB2 has better music tonal characteristics. BB3 has indeed a deeper bass, but for the majority of the music, rock, classical, jazz, blues - BB2 was better to my ears.

Nice comparison! The Boombox 3 definitely sounds more audiophile & mature, the separation & details seems to be improved by alot. Treble too. Maybe the mids are raised a tad bit too much on the Bb3 tho? I got some "inside a can" effect on some of the mids unfortuneatly... That will be hard to equalize away if it starts bothering you for real.

Really? Trying to make a decision between the two...I'm not a midrange guy, bass and treble for me for the most part. But the bb3 has an extra subwoofer....and I listen to r&r, never rap....would I be satisfied with the bb2? From what I can hear, intuition tells me go with bb2...it has an eq in the app right? If I did go with the bb3, could I ho into the eq and turn down the mids and that way I could get the extra subwoofer..?

Actually it’s easy to equalize, as the BB3 comes with a downloadable app where there is an EQ where you can dial down the midrange.

While that's true, & I love all the big speakers with major upgrades. You have to keep in mind and factor in, JBL is still focused on portability for the Boombox Line up. Factor in the weight difference, I highly doubt you're carrying that 110 on your shoulder or hands (all the time)

The Boombox 3 sounds much better linked up to two Charge 5s. You get a much more immersive music experience and the sound is a lot less directional.

This comparison confirms what I noticed live. I have both, the 2 and the 3. If we look at the numbers, the difference is truly remarkable, but experience is not just about power. It's true, the 3 is more powerful and has 3 ways. But the balance of the 2 is in my opinion better, the sound is more balanced and harmonic. In 3 the mid-highs are too emphasized and intrusive compared to the lows. I think it's an adjustment problem, cuts and impedances. A better job could be done regarding calibration. They disappointed me in this respect.

Hello there, musically wise, BB2! Has a better suit of balance on instruments, and vocals. BB3 screams more, but the mids become opaque and resonant. The highs on BB3 are fierce, distancing themselves from the mids. I guess, Mozart's violin sonatas will be better performed by BB2.

Vas a saturar los woofers del bombox 2 solo tienes que elegir entre bajos o medios no puedes aumentar los medios y querer que los bajos se mantengan. Y si aumentas bajos perderás medios así funciona con ese bombox 2 y el bombox 3 cada frecuencia tiene su bocina. Y en el ecualizador puedes aumentar el volumen de cada frecuencia por separado ya que cada bocina es dedicada y no perjudicará ninguna otra frecuencia

136 watts of boombox 3 is a lie....136watts is too far comprable to 80 watts.....if you notice the sound comparison boombox 3 is just a little bit louder than boombox2 just in d mids and d bass is almost d same....but considering the sound power difference, 136 watts of boombox 3 is just too much.....f u say boombox 3 is 100 watts it is believable...56 watts difference is too much and exagerated....just remember that boombox 1 is 60 watts only but the sound is powerful

Simply we can say that the sound clarity found in B2 and the deepest bass quality get in B3 so I love the both sounds character but I prefer B3 coz I love the deeper bass
