********NOTES FOR BATTERY REPLACEMENT**** If you're looking to replace the battery everything has to come out including the motherboard. There are 10 screws in total holding the bottom panel. To access the 4 inner screws you will need a screwdriver extension that bends. For the back two behind the motherboard i laid the unit down on its backside holding pressure down on my table while coming in from the front speakers. Speakers should be pointing straight up. You must also untie (push connector though hole twice) the round magnet thats attached to the power cable to get the unit out. Good luck

I am glad I found this video. My Boombox has taken a beaten in the last year making it a bike speaker. It's held on several times, but has went through a number of drops as well. This speaker is amazingly durable! However after awhile cosmetic damages annoy me. So I contact JBL and get word that the mesh covering and handle comes out about 175 USD! Then I contact their recommended service business near me and the guy tells me a minimum of 100 USD for a ticket just to put those 2 pieces on. Hell no I'm not doing that after what JBL is asking for ripoff pricing on replacement pieces.

We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning kzbin.infoUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

I plugged in the wrong charger to my boom box which put too much voltage in and saw a spark and now the boom box won’t turn on. If I tear it open is there a fuse inside that could be blown from the battery or am I wasting my time?

Straight up can’t find the info for the battery! I see some people post a 10k battery. Boom box is 20k, are there just two 10s in there? What about the voltage? Might just call up JBL and have them throw a battery is for me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Took me a bit to figure this out! You need to put it on a grippy surface. For me, I set it on rough concrete and pushed down with all my weight and turned it and it finally came off. Good luck!

Bro, my boombox keeps turning off automatically in a few seconds after powering it on, my brother took it the other day and may be he forgot to turn it off after using it, I am thinking it might have engaged the auto power off mode. I had the same issue and after watching this video I opened it up and found the battery cable disconnected which can happen if the speaker is dropped, anyway I reconnected the cable and it’s now working fine again

Risky move on using drill to unscrew. You could damage the rubber edge of the speaker and passive radiator if the screw bit slides because of the weight of the hand drill. Screw driver is lighter and more controllable. Anyways, good work...

Hello! This is a copy a paste response. Please read fully if you are still searching for an answer to this solution. I am currently having this problem. First, let's check the serial number located in the port section of the JBL Boombox. If it starts with ND, most likely the process in the video will not help. For this model you will need to pry it off. Consumer discretion is advised as I have not done this process yet and am unfamiliar with how it will feels/looks like. I highly recommend more research before committing to the act. For those without the ND model, the process is not clearly described in the video. Your goal is to remove the opposite ring side using friction from the "normal force" of the surface of your choosing. Choose your surface wisely, it should be flat, grippy and dry. NOW, you can clearly visualize what the videos instructions are. You are not trying to remove the ring facing you but the one underneath. With the JBL Boombox upright, sitting on the subwoofer side you will need to apply pressure and rotate it anti-clockwise. BE WARNED. This requires quite an amount force. Hope this helps you in your endeavor internet stranger.
