Great video as always Alan, big fan. The Tribit only charges using USB A-to-C cables while the JBL charges with USB C to C cables (so I assume as the Charge 4 does); with the smaller battery life of these speakers, it is a major factor. If you plan on charging the speaker using your laptops C port or charger, there is no choice but JBL, Anker, or Sony as far I know. Disappointing as Tribit makes wonderful speakers but seem to forget to add a resistor to make it follow proper USB-C protocol.

That Tribit speaker must be quite dark, cuz I've got a Go3 and I find it pretty dark in the high end. I don't regret the purchase, and it's a nice size, sounds good enough for some listening to some music while traveling, like that you can hang it up in the shower if you want, but especially for listening to podcasts and other spoken word stuff, the lack of high end definition makes sub optimal for that.
@LaFourmiOptimiste4 жыл бұрын
I am truly shocked by your measured battery lifetimes, on both these speakers ! If I had not seen your test, I would expect around 5h for jbl and 8h for tribit, as their manufacturer announced. While ar 66% volume, the jbl perform far greater at 6h30, and tribit far worse at 3h50 (half announced)... And at 100% both are so disappointing 😭 Question is : at same volume on 2 songs, one very few bass, like bright rock, the other lot of bass like rap. Will tge tribit drain the same amount of battery noneless ? Or will it drain only what needed and so a lot less when no bass ? I bought the jbl go 3 yesterday and I feel it sounds very unbalanced. I hard time recognizing my usual songs, from Billie Eilish, Marshmellow, to the Who, to Queen, the Who... So i was seeking a better balanced speaker. I m used to my Flip 4, and expected a same sound signature on the go 3, but it s far different. I also expect a good batterylife so I am happy to have found your review which cover this pretty well, and sad at the same time 😅 Sorry for my english. Btw your review rocks. You covered every aspect I needed, like dimensions comparison side by side to get a better grasp of the form of both, battery lifes, positions (lied down stood up). Awesome work👍
