I bought the first version of these same speakers based on Flossy’s recommendation and I have not been disappointed. I love the sound quality, price and the fact that you can pair two of them together. As a matter of fact I watched this video with the Tribit Stormbox Micro 1’s linked to my iPhone which is very meta.

What’s the difference between party mode and stereo mode when connecting both?

How lazy and lucky are we today? When I would travel I would have 2 Duffel bags. One for my clothes. The other for my music. Which consisted of a case of 6o cassette tapes Ranging from 60 minutes 90 minutes 120 minutes and 180 minutes. And a lasonic tr975. Plus 16 D sell batteries not including the 8 that was in it. Needless to say it was a work out just to get to the gym. Growing up in that time frame listening to the equipment we had then and comparing it to some that we have today. Well let's just say sacrifices had to be made. And unfortunately sound and quality. I'm sorry to say doesn't go hand-in-hand. Sort of like when MTV 1st came out it was cool they played music television music videos. Then they branched into everything else but music. When I stopped watching they were discussing music but 90% of it was beavis and but head which was fine but not for a music channel. And reality shows again not for a music channel. You'd be 9 kinds of upset if you turned on sportsnet wanted to watch your favorite game. Yo I'm sorry it's an all day rap session you wanted to watch the Super Bowl you better go to a music channel. Cause right now sports nut is an all day rapithon.

Tribits are another one of these gems where you get insane value for money in my opinion. Even their cheap headphones are much better than I expected, I already have £174 headphones (V-Moda M100 Cross-fades) not the most premium but certainly not cheap either. They sound great but that's expected. I saw reviews of Tribits Xfree Tunes and Xfree Go's and was on the lookout to get some wireless headphones as my most expensive pairs are wired only. I still use them even today, at home. But for traveling... I was honestly shocked at how good the tribits sound when I hear them for the first time. I already had high expectations before buying them but it still exceeded them. I may have to put these stormboxes on my radar! Very helpful review as always, man!

I have one Bose micro. I was thinking of getting a second one to play in stereo mode. Then I learned about the Flex... Better sound, battery, and USBC. But kinda huge. Then you taught me about B&O A1, and I was considering that because smaller and again better sound. But expensive! Now I'm thinking Tribit Micro 2! Thanks for your time and opinions!

Two of those is all you need.The battery on the Micro 2 will keep your music blasting with no fear of running out of juice.I got Spotify subscription and use their app equalizer and in Stereo mode they fill the air with clean and powerful sound and it is rain ready.Tribit micro 2 is the bang for the buck.Literally a perfect speaker.King in its size.

I currently have the Upgraded Tribit MaxSound Plus and is such a good speaker for less than 60 dollars because it offers very detailed sound with decent amount of bass and really functionality and durability for such low price, but I'm willing to buy this one for travel and keep my MaxSound Plus for my gaming setup studio.

Bought 4 of this, would always strap on and link 3 or all of them when I go for a bike. I would place 1 on the handle bar, 1 at the seat post, and 1 or 2 of 'em straped to my bag. My friends told me I was like a traveling speaker 😅😅😅 Also very impressed cuz how big all four of them sounds.

Great video and review as always man. I've got the original stormbox micro and man what a speaker. I'll be selling my original micro and getting one of these little guys soon. Having 4 extra hours of battery life is very cool. The sound even one speaker puts out is very nice. I'm looking forward to trying out the speaker with both audio books and audio dramas. The first micro does work quite well with audio dramas. Its also great that you can use an app with the new micro as well. Any time I can have access to an E-Q with one of my speakers, I'm going to go for it. I hope the app is accessible with voice over on my iPhone 8.

Yep, got two of these suckers. When in party mode they both turn off when you turn one of them off and even better is that when you turn both of them on they are already in party mode 👍

6:00 Nice, but how do you disable the Powerbank mode ? For example if you plug the Tribit to a Powerbank, you probably don't want the Tribit to charge the Powerbank but rather receive power off it.

considering these for the portability. current bluetooth speaker right now is the Oontz from Cambridge soundworks, good sound, basic EQ but these win for size. Only downside is I saw that theres no aux option but I guess its bluetooth these days anyway. Now just gotta find a case that can carry 2 perfectly

Hello Mr. Floss! I have the Bose, JBL, and I did purchase the first version of this little speaker. First of all, I loved the build quality, the sound was pretty damn good, the usbc was a “major go”, however, unlike the Bose, there was no option for this little guy to stay on and not to power off over a certain time. I need my speaker to be able to stay on until it dies. Does this one have it now? If not, I’ll have to stick with the Bose. Thanks Mr. Floss.

I do wonder if the slightly different audio quality messes with the paired audio quality and if it would be better if both were the Micro 2. But I think Ima stick with this set up, it's a pretty good deal if I say so myself.

@@bjenksful I only have the older version.. but check the alan ross channel on KZbin, he made the comparison and pair them. There is no significant difference when they are paired.. but the battery and the treble on the new one is improved.

My phone battery life is not that great so I do like the idea of having it on my bike right next to my phone so I can charge while riding. But like you said, otherwise, there's not much of a difference (I have yet to mess with the EQs).

I did figure out how to get the tribbit app to work with my micro2 speaker. However, it wasn't easy. It isn't as accessible with voice over as I'd like. I can't get the choose region part to work, but did manage to log in as guest or something. There is an update to the micro2 speaker which if you can, do the update. I couldn't believe how loud the speaker gets now. The only thing I don't like about the micro2 speaker, is you can go forward tracks, but not back tracks if you use the buttons on the speaker. However, this is possible with the app. I chose not to use any of the E-Q settings, but again, do the update if you canl. You won't be disappointed.
