In my experience the go 4 is a very good upgrade, especially the EQ adjustment. It gets better bass, and its just a very refined and good speaker. One thing to note though; I tried to connect the go 4 to my charge 5 and xtreme 3 (which are all on the latest software) via the app but then it says "not compatible" which is annoying but that is about the only negative thing about the speaker. Overall solid speaker for its price

I think they're not compatible it's because the Xtreme 3 and the Charge 5 got the "old" JBL Partyboost but the Go 4 got the new "Auracast", just like the Xtreme 4.

The go 4 got aura cast so can’t communicate with party boost speakers. The premium JBL extreme supports aura cast and partyboost.

One feature of the Sony is that when you put it on a table/flat surface, the bass is amplified through the surface making for more impactful bass.

The Sony xb100 is king of bass and it's much louder now after using it for a long time

I prefer the GO for the form factor. It fits in pockets, backpacks, carry-ons just a little easier and won't get scratched or scratch anything else in my bag.

I own sony xb-13 and is performing really well. I bought two of them (on an offer ) and they connect on stereo mode. Anyway it doesn’t distort at all the sound…

Do you know if the jbl Go 4 strap is removable? I loved carrying my jbl Go 1 with a langer and it seems that there is a hole for it if you put out the strap

Don't buy the JBL GO 4. If you have a chance, go for the JBL GO 2. Sounds way better than the GO 3 or GO 4 version. I have booth of them here in the studio (audio engineer here) and no amount of improvements on the GO 4 could make up for the loss of quality vs the GO 2. My JBL GO 2 has 6 years now, and I'm still impressed at how such a small speaker can sound so good. Thought the new versions would build up on that, but turns out they don't at all.

I rather have my go3 than my go2. 2 It's not as probable 3 so it makes me not even use it anymore. Go 4 looks interesting because you can pair 2 together

I have go 2 just updated to go 4 i think two sounds so boring has just Shower type of sounding i have used it two years now i give it to a Friend of my .i dont find how this sound is better but all go series are just for traveling purposes not as home speaker. I own Charge 5 in home and that makes me Smile 😁

I found 2xgo4 at 20 euros each, new, to replace Flip Essential 4 as my portable speaker(s). Very happy with it. At home i use 2x Soundcore Motion+ . Usually with S23U and Tidal.

The sony xb100 is never 16 hours battery life, you need it on high volume to hear it when out and about and even in the home tbh. The clip 4 to me has a good sound for its size and a decent battery life and I found the go3 had a thin sound to it somI returned mine fairly quickly so will be interesting to get a go4 this week to try one

Jbl 4 form factor and better mids definitely gives it an edge over others..but I might skip it because I had very bad experience with go3 power button

I have a go 4, it’s amazing. It’s very loud for its size aswell. Decent sound, good bass. Although, bad thing about it, is that the bass slightly dies at 70+% but what can you expect, it’s not a party box ultimate😂😂
