Dude, ty for the review. I just watched a comparison review of the Clip 5 vs 4 just before this video by a KZbinr with 1.9M followers and your video was much more informative (and professional) before i was halfway through the review! Thanks for showing the now recessed power button of the Clip 5, as on the 4 it was too sensitive and powered on and off from the slightest touch while out hiking...so annoying! Just ordered from JBL and got £9 off. Bonus.

Yes exactly. I was even using two of the Lidl Silvercrest brand Bluetooth speakers because they were already even able to connect two of them for stereo music and not the better brand JBL. Stereo for me is just THE WAY to listen to music so I am finally glad JBL with the clip 5 made it possible now 😃

Update 10.05.24 Sat I Just Purchased 2nd JBL CLIP 5 and I'm Going to Pick It Up In Store Bit Later... Your Review Is What Inspired Me To Return Both of My CLIP 4s Because Rubber on Rear Was Coming Off Any Way... 0:57 And the clip 5s sound significantly better... I still use my Clip 4 but even the front "JBL" letters eventually fell off and all I ever clipped it to was my belt loop. The silicone strips on the back were gone within a month. Looks like the Clip 5 is worth upgrading but I'll be putting beads of super glue along the front letters straight out of the box.

I'd suggest getting additional warranty & if anything happens including spills, drops, electrical, mechanical you can return it...

dude! i use a clip 4 for disc golf and it rocks, but i am often pushing the volume to the limit. so more volume and the ability to double up and clip one to a homie's bag is clutch. thanks for the comparison. 👍👍

Im surprised you didnt mention the power button relocation. On the JBL clip 4, the power button was in such a bad location that with normal walking/running/snowboarding, the button would cause it to turn itself off FREQUENTLY. So annoying. Glad to see engineering sorted this out on the Clip 5.

The power button on clip4 will eventually break down and crack apart esp with outdoor use in direct sunlight. Good to see they addressed this in clip 5

I love the fact that you can have full stereo by buying and connecting another Clip 5. I don't see this on too many Bluetooth speakers particularly at this price level. Place one on the other side of the room or car and you have a room filling sound. That so many people listen to only one speaker... was I absent for a "back to mono" movement? Last I checked virtually all music is recorded in stereo and that's the way it's intended to be played.

For my Clip 4, the strips at the back are fine, but the JBL text in front is fully gone, apart from the remaining stealthy glue text.

It shouldn't distort unless you got an equalizer, volume booster on, or it's a fake one

JBL definitely didn't nail it with the bottom. The Clip3 was built a good deal better. And the gap on this new one of the clip, is tinyif any difference at all. Definitely not fitting on anything with the bike and like you said too, it'll scratch the hell out of anything like that. They still have a good deal of improvement to go here. Bring back the bottom of the Clip3 that was so much better. Open the clip up and put a quality coating to it. And put a small flat at the bottom for it to be able to stand if need be. Also, the power button on the Clip4 is horrible, I can't say how many times it accidentally pressed because it sticks out. Again, better thinking in the Clip3 for that too.

I've returned 3 of clip 4s & returning 4th clip 4 later today... I wear all clips I've ever owned Clip 3 & 4 as there's always been issues... With 3s the pins came out of clip joint... With 4s Rubber peeled off rear... I wear all clips & previous jbl portables before clips on lanyard around my neck & speaker hangs below my neck on shirt in middle of my chest... And It bounces & can also swing back & forth when walking & hiking...
