Flossy you're right - these speakers are worth every penny 💯 It is very expensive to produce clean & accurate bass. Just look at how much good quality sub woofers cost. These speakers don't distort or bottom out even at full volume and the bass stays clean and full, the volume doesn't roll off like cheaper bluetooth speakers... And the mad RGB light effects, especially the floor ones... These are the truth 💯🔥💥

Mids on JBL Partybox 1000 seemed to be better, cleaner. You can notice on the "instrumental" song, but I think that the Ultimate can sound better if you change the EQ on the app.. Bass on Partybox Ultimate is much better, deeper. The highs seems the same on both. More stereo separation on Partybox Ultimate and more SPL.

You are right, but for the price and the promised frequency response it’s pretty poorly balanced. If you carry a 45kg speaker with 2 9” subwoofers and it only hits 50hz and it’s louder than every other frequency in every song it honestly sounds stupid. I’m returning it and I don’t think I will believe other promises from JBL like “Deep” Bass Boost and “Original JBL sound”. Have a great day everyone!

Floss, sound request for you. You recommend me to get the Diamondboxx L3 & SUB8.2 combo over an XL3. I listened to you and did just that. And I thank you for that because this combo sounds amazing! So I'd like to see this combo get put against the Ultimate. They cost about the same too, both an L3 and SUB8.2 cost about $800-$900 each. Inverter generators are actually very nice to use for tailgating and beach parties! Not only I would use that, I have brought an amplified mixer, EV eliminator IIs (15" two way PA cabinets) and Karaoke machine! I have to wonder how much wattage the JBL Partybox uses. I'm sure it would run off a Jackery or similar battery bank for a while. No gas, smell, or noise. And no worrying about park rangers although you may get some noise complaints from the music! 😛 EDIT: Doc was right nearly 40 years later. Let me explain. If you put of these side by side you get 88. If you remember those famous words..."If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 mph, you're gonna see some serious shit!" Well, there you go! 😀

A good power station 600 watts and 720wh can easily hold this speaker for about 4-5 hours at max volume without lights i guess maybe even more.Pb 710 has power consuption about 160watt so i guess ultimate will be a lil more.

Sorry, I have to disagree. The 1000 has clearer vocals. The vocals tend to be put more to the background with the Ultimate and actually, I don't like that. Yeah, the Ultimate is a better 'party speaker' and has clearer highs, but the 1000 is a bit more of an allrounder. 1000 Will satisfy more people I guess. But hey... that's just my opinion. Still quite ok video though, but wish you would have also tested sound dispurtion. That's where the 1000 really shines, with its horn tweeter. Also it sounds like that the Ultimate tends to compress more, so that the bass can keep on going. This can also be a mic problem... Was waiting for someone to put this comparison online though. Thnx for that.

So, The new JBL PB Ultimate has Dolby Atmos, and PB 1000 doesn't, But I own PB 1000, and my Phone support Dolby Atmos feature, believe me PB 1000 sounds much better when Dolby Atmos is swiched On! Just tested the ultimate and for me personally the sound profile is better on the 1000. The ultimate is louder but too loud and not as balanced, I feel like it’s legit for outdoor party use on way larger crowds. The 1000 sounds better in house.

The ultimate will sound louder coz of the setup you have two speakers throwing sound at you and at the sound metre, the 1000 has a downfiring woofer so it rumbles more vs throwing sound. I have a 710 and I don’t really like it, I prefer the 1000 everyday of the week. Love the earthquake feeling of a downfiring 12” subwoofer better rumbling the ground than sound thrown at me to sound louder. The ultimate is 2x 9” woofers 2x tweeters The 1000 is 2x 7” and 12” woofer with tweeters. You have loudness vs rumbling bass shaking the floor boards.

Since the 12 inch subwoofer of PB 1000 is pointing downwards, the man standing in front of it does not feel the bass as deep bass, but actually PB 1000 has a lot of bass. But I listened to it on PB 710, I think it is not weak at all, that is, it is powerful enough for its size in my opinion.

I only have the 310 and it's plenty for where I live. As always, it's "never enough" as I always want "better". Knowing I'll never go even 50% on either the 1000 or Ultimate, I still find myself wanting to upgrade. I like that Ultimate!

my pb1000 is perfect for me. the ultimate almost gave me a damn stroke by looking at the light show faded lolol the down facing sub is prob cleaner bass too.

I bought two Partybox 1000s about a year and half ago. I love them. But it's always hard when the next best thing comes out. I think I'll ride these monsters out for a while and get some good use out of them. I'll wait a few Partybox generations before I sell them.
