Needed this, I knocked my mate off his bike and the speaker stopped charging, I had the charge 5 and gave it to him for his broken xtreme 3, took it apart and the 2 wires in the back of the charging ports were unplugged simple fix and now got an amazing speaker thank you for this video

Thank you Jin My son dropped my speaker last week and i thought it was stuffed. The connection between the charger and the battery on the back of the charging bit had disconnected so it slowly ran flat. I was gutted because music is life to me and i had to fork out another big chunk of cash to replace it. Before your video I looked at how the heck i could open it too see if something was amiss but gave up as it looked impenetrable without breaking it and sadly put it in the trash :( My last ditch attempt at fixing it was looking online for tips where I found your video and took it out of the trash and repaired it easily. Thank you

Found you channel after searching repair info for a JBL Flip 3 I picked up in the e-waste collection bin at a shop nearby, I repaired it by just replacing the USB charge port assembly, and now it works great. I hope I will find more of them in the future, in e-waste or fleamarkets, most users would not bother trying any repair and throw them away sadly.

very interesting, my xtreme 3 is very different from yours, mine doesn’t have a couple of foams and the LED for the battery is also different, i just bought mine two days ago

It depends on the model number, there are two models. Please check the label behind the flap for the charging port. The number begins with ND or with GG, these models are different.

The size of the extreme 3 it's very similar to extreme 2 the way look at it it's pretty small for it's size but surprisingly it does more sound and bass just like a boombox 2.

Nah it's far from Boombox 2, however it does indeed have deeper bass than Xtreme 2

Just glad they're using 18650 batteries by the looks of it , polymer batteries swell so bad i couldn't get it out , currently stuck trying to get my old flip 4 battery out.

Hello. I have the first Boombox 3. It is of the age, where the battery does not hold its charge anywhere near as long or much as it use to. I have contacted JBL as per a service or maintenance to REPLACE the battery. But I have had no response nor return on being able to replace the old battery with a new battery. Can I be asking you for advice. I live in the Unite Kingdom. Everything else with my boombox 3 is good, just the battery is near dead. Thank you.

as long as its the same volt, the mAH of the battery will determine the playtime of the speaker.

I find it easier to open the grill and put it on top of the enclosure and make sure it goes in first...once u know it is Center you can work on snapping on each side...

Oh my gosh, thank you very much. Thanks to you i was able to open my speaker and found the problem. Problem: My speaker won't turn off. It won't even turn off on its own, even if reached it's lowest battery percentage and when it's played in low bat, it creates static sound. The speaker wont even reset. To make it work normally again, I have to attach it to a charger or just charge it full again. Solution: The problem lies at the battery. So I opened the speaker up and found a wire connecting to the battery itself and a detachable plug attached to the board. So, I plug it off carefully and plugged it in back. It's fixed again. Turns out the the wire was loose. 😂 Anyways, thanks 👍🏻
