I feel like the Xtreme is so much warmer with greater presence in the low end however the Xtreme 3 has a lower bass frequency overall even if the clear mids and highs cover the bass slightly giving it a flatter but more pronounced sound.

The xtreme 3 has a better bass response and volume but the xtreme 1s tweeters honestly sound less harsh and more buttery while still having a very similar ads response.

I've had my JBL Xtreme for probably close to... 5 years? And it still sounds so good, I do have to say that I use it most of the time plugged in, but even at around the three to four year mark, I never really saw any battery issues. I didn't know that these issues were so common for people, I guess I just got very lucky. I also got my JBL for $110 when it was top of the line, thanks to a really neat Black Friday/cyber Monday sale

Battery issue is due to a drift between the li-ion modules , appearing through several recharges. There is a fix by replacing original battery with 4x 18650 battery. The issue came on my xtreme after only a year , with a sudden ridiculous autonomy (1 jhour) and recharges wher then done in only a fraction of what you usually see on a new model. Since I’ve done this replacement, no more drifting between the batteries, the autonomy remains the same still 2016.

I also had the battery issues... Twice. First time warranty covered it, so I got a new battery. Which recently started to die too. I've replaced it with 4 standard 18650 samsung batteries with new BSM and now it works again perfect. All cost me about 40 euros for the batteries, the BSM and labor to solder them. I then mounted it myself. Google it for a scheme.

It's funny you say that bc the obe thing I don't really like about the Xtreme is it can be way too bassy at times and I'm a hardcore bass lover but it just drowns out some lyrics in certain songs. Also makes it horrible for using at low volumes or in small rooms I've tried to use it while I'm in the shower and and volumes that won't wake the house all you can hear is bass

I have the original Extreme for at least 3/4 years and it sounds like day one, no battery issues. I'm thrilled with them, but let's face it...they sound good, but it's never been the best portable audio cuality. they are the best in portability, they are all-terrain speakers, they have excellent bass (not the best), good battery life and they also have a modern design that everyone likes. but really in audio there are better options in that price range. Harman Kardon, Marshall, Bosé, Denon, among others. even so, to take me with parties of friends or to the pool/beach, they seem to me the best option

I had an old friend in middle school and he Had a 1st Gen JBL Xtreme and he would literally bring it to school on some occasions, if it wasn't for my old friend I wouldn't have discovered that a wonderful Brand like JBL Exists, I used to have a Charge 4 that I got for Christmas, it was okay tho, I didn't really like the fact that there was only One subwoofer powering the thing, but then i recently had Bought myself an Xtreme 3 Yesterday from Target and I got lucky too because there was only that One left on the shelf and I am very happy to have gotten one now I have louder Stereo sound and more of a Hands-Free experience compared to my Charge 4

So i got 2 extreme 1s at the lesser price since the newer models are out. My 2 extreme 1s cost the same as 1 extreme 3. So i went with that. Did my research fully. I can upgrade in the future if i want. The features and sound are better on the extreme 3........but not worth double the price. And , imho, the extreme 1 sounds better than the 2, just me. I have xtreme 1 and recently bought partybox 💯. Holy hell the sub-bass is insane there's that impact that you feel after every drum kick, and the upper range mids/treble are actually clear and makes xtreme 1 sounds muddy in comparison. That being said, xtreme 1 still sounds good with some treble boost eq for its size.

Just dont use it when its charging and dont fall it on the ground that can helps your extreme live longer. can you connect the charge4 to the xtrem 3? they sold one million charge 4 and that s one million charge 4 witch won t connect to the brand new xtrem 3... it s a scam, they should update juste like they did for the charge 3 to connect plus. And they keep selling both systems, there is no real reason bluetooth speakers shouldn't connect together... so buy xtrem 2 or 3 but get ready to buy a hole new set by the next upgrade... Jbl should react... i ll keep complaining until i can pair my 2 charge to my xtrem 3... what a waste... maybee next year it will be partyboost plus, and the app won t help you for anything at all.

I've watched a few of your videos, and really enjoy your channel. Question, do you have any suggestions for a portable Bluetooth speaker that would deliver high quality sound for watching movies? I currently have a UE Megaboom, but find the vocals are not very clear and become muddy at high volume.

I think the third generation has a slightly brighter sound can only tell the difference if you have both of them

Am I the only one that thinks that the original one sounds way better? It sounds way more balanced, and not so forced on the mids. That said, the lower base performance on the three is enticing, but if the base doesn't sound as good, then why have more of it

I don't know it thats an issue there's tons of batteries in amazon and ebay ranging from 20 to 40$ or € then a tutorial in youtube how to change it have mine replaced 2x and rockin with it up till this time..

The fact that you have changed yours 2 times kinda confirms the issue. I don't think most people are upto the task of replacing a battery and those are people I was trying to talk to.

@@DLXWillington the fact that not all of us can afford speakers when they release new models not like youtubers/ reviewers, so im just saying we can replace batteries for 20 to 40 $ before buying a 100 to 300$ speaker 🤦 its not an issue if you can replace it and in the end of 2 to 4 years all lithium batteries will have an issue..when you can't change it then that's the issue., use it plugged or junk it..
