Nah mate, you should be fine buying these, these people put their speakers to the extreme limit with bass boosted music and turning off the speakers safety (aka LFM), which is the reason they destroyed their speakers. If you just use them the way they where meant to be used you can blast music out of them at 100% volume without problem

Why would anyone in their right mind want to turn off all the elaborate dsp and tuning that not only allows it to play louder without distortion but also gets the most out of the drivers within their limits? Most the magic comes from the complex dsp algorithms from the JBL engineers. When you bypass all that, you're just left with a Chinese knockoff lol. (They can copy the design, but they can't copy the DSP trickery).

You have to set the exposure time quite high. On my phone it starts working at 500 or more. You should do it in direct sunlight because else the footage is too dark.
