Those are 2 imho good tips from me, collected from many of "coachs" and concluded those, which I didn't hear in your tut. 1. Don't forget about your head while landing in blind. It's much easier landing and looking forward rather than keeping head looking at back binding or past way. (like you do) 2. It's easier to land blind if the handle is nearer the hips and / or if you keep the handle as long as you can with both hands and loose the back hand in the latest moment of rotating/landing. Those are for begginers. Sure thing is that those ^ for pros are little details that are not confusing as much as in learning phase.

as I stated in the beginning, this isn't a tutorial, rather just a few thing to help you be more consistent.
@rendy50923 жыл бұрын
I don't agree with the first point. Looking backwards when landing blind allows your upper body to be and a more stable position then trying to look forward which causes your upper body to be off axis often leading people to lose balance and fall. I've always been taught to land looking backwards, stabilize and then looking forward.

Great tutorial JB, something in there for every level... When I first started out trying cuffed and blind (boat & PWC), I slowed my riding speed down until my confidence and technique improved. Loved the single handed blind and tic-toc blind exercise advise, brilliant!
@jboneill5 жыл бұрын
thanks dude!! would be good on a 2.0 system cause you cant really slow the big cable down, but to be fair the cable is wayyy slower than the boat.

This is one of the things that i wanna improve the most and i did as you said. Taking the handle behind the back and try to ride blind as long as i can. I realy dont know how to improve this because i thought i was doing something wrong but i'm glad to hear you say practice for muscles is key! I was searching a long time for something like this video because noone is talking about this or did a good video about landing blind. Thx mate :)

Aspiring back one riders. Ride blind like JB says….in fact everything JB says in this video is so useful. Ride blind till it becomes natural. It will pay dividends when you land a back one over a kicker. Hey I go over the kickers blind. Bit scary to start with. But no real drama. At least if I land blind, all I have to is do the twirly bit. The twirly bit works sometimes….and I’m 64!…thanks to JB video And I suggest doing hundreds of back ones of the box. Its easier and helps the muscle memory for a nice landing and progression.

I cant ride in the blind position! I can cross the wakes in the cuffed position no worries but as soon as I take the front hand off I will tic tock. I have tried to max edging, hinging, rear leg weight and reaching around fully. I have tried leaning at slightly different angles. knuckles are tight to my back. Ive looked to the shore and to my tail. Seems impossible. I think it might be due to my thick physique and shorter unflexible arms. Will larger fins help me? I use 0.8" fins on a 150 murray pro. 230 pounds.

Checkpoint note: it’s been a while now that I can land blinds in a very consistent way, and I lately learn to throw them during transferts to land blind in inclines / banks. It’s harder but after a couple of tries you get the hang of it. However, I think a tutorial is really needed on how to land blind after a big kicker jump. I swear to dog this is the most challenging thing I have been doing in my wakeboarding life. I can land them if I don’t push a lot, but as soon as I push, landing them becomes very inconsistent (and they are a requirements for tricks like trantrum to blind, crowmobe or BS 5). I have yet to find a method because they are different beasts as soon as you get a lot of pop.

yeah i might make that soon

If I want to do wake to wake back side180. Can I practice like this behind the boat?
@jboneill5 жыл бұрын
yes for sure!!! just make sure on the boat you really get your chest over your toes and also be patient and dont go to blind to early. I really try and lanperfectly on the down side of the wake too caues jumping a tad too far makes it pretty hard.

My cable park has an insane amount of tension, so everyone has learnt to go to blind with lots of tension. Resulted in me accidentally doing a 540 with the rope wrapped around me at Liquid Leisure (meant to back 1) cause I wasn’t used to the lack of tension.

Hey, can you please explain a bit the way you bend your knees during spins? I constantly see that you bend one knee more than the other. What’s up with that? Thanks!
@jboneill5 жыл бұрын
so pretty much its not necessary at all to bend just one leg or the other, some riders have both legs straight some have both bent, some are like me. I think the reason for me that one is bent more than the other is that I am either pushing off an obstacle with one leg more than the other, or I am trying to poke the board to possibly look better. but yeah thats really about it
