I'm new at wakeboarding after leaving the amazing surf in Hawaii and having to relocate to Florida. We became depressed until we got to Raven / McCormick's park and now is our place of therapy....we went from surfing all the North Shore breaks me and the kids....back to ground zero Kooks at wakeboarding so this video was great. Respecting others and respecting locals is big in the surf world and I think you also have to respect the locals at a wakepark too...introduce yourself...be humble and show gratitude.

Hey JB ... just wanted to let you know that your tip about helping out with minimizing rollers for others by riding close to the features was something I learned... I’ve definitely experienced the yuck of a bouncy cable and a multitude of rollers riding as a beginner along side the pros at the park. Anyway... another good video man... also love the humor. And you’re so right that wakeboard life is about support, positivity and fun. 🙌🏻

oh, that reminds me a bunch of things... once i was really close to smash something while learning ts bs 360 wrapped, but, fortunately, i was said to try something weird and light i have never done before instead of attacking concrete wall, so i've decided to try a simple twist. and that has saved my nerves :) once i've landed just few centimeters aside a girl resting with snowboard on bigair landing spot. it was very hard for me to avoid swearing and to stay polite while explaining why she should give up this strange habit, lol and yeah, every year i see those smart arses thinking that dock start queue is not for their vip majesties, but it's sort of same thing everywhere, at the gym, for example :) yep, great tips for everyone, no matter who will see this: newbies like me or experienced riders sure: bro, this is useful vid filled with positive vibes, thanks!

What to do when the cable stops and you were out on the water.. I noticed some cables have a hard time getting up to speed dragging several ppl out in the water after a restart... might be good courtesy to let go if you’re near the dock to make sure the cable can restart promptly?
@jboneill4 жыл бұрын
Just depends, if it’s a 10 carrier cable then it has a hard time sometimes, but if it’s only 6 or 7 carriers, it doesn’t really struggle
@MoeOuan6664 жыл бұрын
Here many cable don't let you hold your line in this case, and give you hard time if you don't let go. They think it will degrade their motor if they start with the extra drag... They are probably right, but they are also responsible for stopping the cable on the first place. if it happen multiple times and i am au the opposite corner, i hold on my line regardless of their policy: there are limits after being a jerk is the thing to do 😂

I hate when people cut in line. Even beginners do it. It's no big deal if you want to go in front, just make sure you ask. Also, be mindful of your equipment lying around. Keep it out of the middle of walk areas. And be mindful of other people's gear, if you have a beat up rental board, try not to bang into somebody else's board while on the dock. When you spend several hundred dollars on a board, you dont want a big scratch in your graphics or a chunk out of the edge just because of someone else's carelessness. Also, take care of the rental gear. I see people smashing their feet into bindings and blowing the backs out of the boots pretty often. Just a couple of things I've noticed, not complaining, just trying to keep the smiles at the dock!

People chilling after falling behind a kicker is something that makes me itchy every time. For two reasons: 1. it’s annoying, because sometimes we are laps-capped, so I won’t be able to throw something on that lap and basically missing a lap ; 2.worse, it’s dangerous, especially if the rider is RIGHT behind the kicker. I have developed a ritual of mine to always check the kickers when I’m riding on the other side of the lake (if possible) and the riders right in front of me to be sure no fallen rider will be there when I arrive, because last year I like jumped above a guy that was chilling and hiding and it scared the shit out of me. :D

When it’s busy, let the operator know you are about to drop, so next person can get on straightway. I see so many people going over the last corner and just dropping the handle, so they can just slide back to the dock without taking their board off.
