Justin was easier to buy in the white guy does urban-pop lane that was really popular then. Justin also had more overt secs appeal and was willing to lean into fully back then, unlike JC. Justin as well was a bigger name due to his relationship with Britney. It was apparent ever since N’Sync’s last album that Justin was the most likely to get a big solo push and garner success.

Of course his chances were partially sabotage. Look at the format on how pop entertainers rise through the ranks today...subliminal messages (brainwashing, i.e. playing only selective songs on repeat), setting certain individuals up with the right producers/songwriters, etc. Let's not forget one of the biggest factors, age. JC is 5 years older (though now days you can't tell because Justin has kind of aged badly, while JC being the 2nd oldest in the group looks mostly the same unless he sports some stupid experimental hairstyle). In the music industry it's cost efficient to invest in someone younger than older (cause market trends do prove younger people are more likely to consume/spend the most). There's also plenty of other reasons (mostly due to the politics of the industry).

Ok- so you cannot watch this video and say that JC was NOT TALENTED. He WAS the talent of NSYNC. PERIOD. HE was everything! 🌟 Just look at how he flows so beautifully and organic, without such strict choreography. He's unbelievable, gorgeous, genuine, amazing, glowing. He has such a way about him that you can't even take your eyes off of him once he starts. That's a true talent, that's real entertainment! He is a true star! Always has been. He has MOVES for days. Pure raw talent. And his VOICE, my lord- please! And that charisma, plus all of that confidence. Okay that boy band was ALL JC. And it was so sad to see him be robbed of it all so they could always have Justin, appear to be their "Frontman"..with that HAIR- LOL!!! It doesn't even matter that JT went solo. Because JC IS the reason they were as successful as the are as a Boy Band, considering, also the reason they sounded so good as they did LIVE, (and sold those tickets) watch some.. or ALL of the *no strings attached TOUR* and see for yourself- I don't have to advocate for JC- ok it's all right there, unless you're BLIND OR COMPLETELY BIASED. which is fine. 😂 I get that. But the facts are that JC kept that band ALIVE the way that Tom Brady carried them Patriots He shouldn't have ever been shaped and shoved into a square hole when he isn't a square peg! He's so much more- he broke the mold and then some! Just never being able to show his true and full potential whilst in NSYNC, must've been very difficult for him because you can see how happy he is when he performs solo. He gets to be himself and show what he has, seeing him so open and loose and fun is absolutely amazing and contagious. Also so much better for him than being in JT's shadow for all those years, which tho humble I'm sure was very hard for him! . And that's all there is to it. 🎤 ❤️ ✌️ ☮️ 😊 🔥 *thank you- these are MY personal opinions, because this IS a public forum in which I am perfectly entitled to comment. So IF you do not agree or like MY personal opinion- you CAN just keep scrolling and not say anything nasty or hateful. We're talking about boy bands here. Okay thanks very much 💚💯🖖

JC didn’t have the music to back him up nearly the same way. Justified was a good album all the way through and had a direction and a a1 producer. Had jc had that with more hunger for success he would’ve made it. And while I’m not saying Britney had no help in Justin’s popularity later, he and jc were already the most popular in the group in 97-98
@Keepdapocket Жыл бұрын
@@romaretaylor9953I was in the music industry at that time. Actually, played for Justin Timberlake. I can personally tell you when it came to JC, the word was “we don’t need another Justin Timberlake”! Even when this song dropped, people thought it was a rejected by Justin, and that’s why he got it! Truth, that’s what was being said in the industry. The only way JC would have made it BIG was to go strictly R&B route and get the respect of the bruthas and Sistas, or go a completely different route. The hip hop route, he was looked at as a clone to JT, unfortunately.
@k.t155 Жыл бұрын
@@Keepdapocketso if he had went the Robin Thicke route, that would’ve set him apart? It’s a shame they both couldn’t shine. I mean, they were in the same group for gods sake. @Keepdapocket Жыл бұрын
@@k.t155 here a couple examples. Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, LFO, 98 Degrees, and many other white boy bands were out at the same time. Pink, Brittney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore, Jo Jo, etc were all out at the same time. With the boy bands, BSB and NSync were top dogs because they cornered the market, so to speak. The others, had a few hits, but was no where near sustainable. Same with the ladies I mentioned. Christina and Britney sustained in that “hip pop” genre. Jo Jo was more R&B and fell off. Pink used hip hop as a springboard, then completely switched over to straight pop. Jessica had a decent run due to her relationship with Nick Leche, but musically, she fell off. So on and so on. You proved my point. JC and Justin were similar, but Justin already has the spot.. JC was always going to be looked at as “following Justin”. That doesn’t seem or get you bigger. As I stated, I was in the industry. The talk was to try and make him another Justin. People was going to go for that. JC had to find another lane. Undoubtedly, he has a better voice than Justin, but just having a better voice doesn’t matter.

Hands down best voice in Nsync. Justin just had that stage presence though..

Justin got his LP out first. That’s all. JC waited too long, working on so many side projects with BT, Basement Jaxx, and this one too. By the time he got out his solo LP the iron had cooled. Plus, Schizophrenic was experimental, and not “poppy” or “hip-hoppy”. I liked it just because it had his voice, but his “experimentation” cost him fans just like Darren Hayes did with his LP, The Tension and the Spark.

I remember listening to JC back then when he came out with his solo album, and I was thinking to myself that this guy has one of the best voices in the industry, but the ‘industry’ did not prop them up to the credit he deserved. 😩

This song just suddenly popped in to my head so I had to find it on KZbin! Man he was so underrated. As great as Timberlake was, JC was clearly as talented and capable as an artist. He had a great personality also...such a shame the industry has to hand pick the one ‘star’ from a group and groom them for stardom whilst they turn their back on the others. This was an amazing track and stands toe to toe with any Justin Timberlake track. I also loved ‘Plug It In’, the collab he did with Basement Jaxx. So unique
