Workflow Tips: File Management and Folder Templates

My files get so messy sometimes, but now that I have a folder template to always use I don't have to worry about that anymore!

What's the best format to save krita files as? I got the issue that sometimes when I try to save them in another format than krita that krita tells me that some information will be lost. Do they just mean that all my layers will be gone or that my picture will actually lose quality?

.kra will save in the native Krita format, which won't result in the loss of anything. If you have alerts about layers disappearing then you're saying as .png, .jpg, or another format that merges all layers together and will never separate them again. Always save as .kra when you're working on your file, but when you're done with your file you can save as .png or .jpg AFTER saving it as .kra. PNG: will be the least amount of data loss when saved and results in higher quality images, but this is best for printing. JPG: Way more data loss and smaller file sizes, and better for posting online or on your website.

@@JustCallMeInsane yes, those are exactly the files I'm using. Have never tried any of the others. And of course I save everything as .kra first because I might want to work on it again. 😉 Thank you for the tips. Such a quick reply, too. 😊
