this is about a bit of advice i took to change the boost diaphragm on the lucas injector pump, brilliant £50 fix that has totally changed the power in the fastrac for the better, do it!

It probably is cormac and a cheap fix, little bit fiddly but well worth it. These fastracs were originally around 170hp, but with this fault I'm sure mine dropped 20 or 30hp. If your fastrac isn't pushing out some black smoke when the turbo is working hard its deffo the boost diaphragm cos it was a common problem with them. Good luck mate 👍

Hello cormac I can't find a part number but what I did myself was get the name of the injector pump ( cav or Lucas ) and went to my local dealer and asked for a boost diaphragm for that model, sorry I can't help more. All the best gaz

Hello. I have changed the boost diaphragm, should you adjust it? the one who sat there was broken, but I do not think there is much difference after I changed it. no black smoke, 3 gives turtle with full loaded trailer in hills. any tips ? 😀 greeting Tom from norway 😎 Fastrac 155-65

Hello fella it made a huge difference on mine maybe fuel filter clogged cos that takes the power down quite a bit. Hope you sort it 👍

@@onlygazza Thanks for the reply, I found out what was wrong. holes in the hose between the turbo and the wastgate. get better up hills now. 😎😎

nice video. does the 2135 98 mod have the same ?

Not sure, but it's a common fault on the older models. As I said on the vid, put the tractor under load with a trailer making the turbo work hard and look at the smoke exiting the exhaust, it should have some black smoke if it's ok. When the smoke is quite white the fuel pump isn't being advanced by the rubber gizmo and thus low power. It's worth a change just to see, because it only costs at the most £50 for the part. This engine was pretty flat before the mod, after the mod you barely need to change out of 6th when on the road now. Hope it works for you 👍

Hi, I am looking to get this part, however I am running into a spot of bother finding it, if you had a part number or model number that would be great, Thanks.
@onlygazza7 жыл бұрын
paul rushe I don't have the part number but it's easy to take off, so take it off and see if it has a tear or wear in it, if it has the hole go to your dealer with the injector pump name and ask them to order a boost diaphragm for that injector pump model. Hope that helps you.

A the same place to give the Fastrac a small extra HP boost by simply turning the little screw in the centre a turn ot 2!
@onlygazza7 жыл бұрын
Robert Russell that's interesting, which screw are you talking about Robert? Cheers for commenting

a tiny allen key screw that pushes on diaphragm controlling turbo boost to fuel pump.

@@robertrussell8980 Screw it in or out? i had a feeling you'd adjust the fueling off the diaphram but not sure how many turns or what direction
