I don't know about dogs drinking with the back of the tongue, but in slo-mo it is spectacular that the dog's tongue lays perfectly flat with the water tension surface, thus creating a vacuum which the dog quickly pulls up then slightly curls the tongue to form a groove on the top where the water is vacuumed up at alarming speed to make drinking by licking very efficient. I would say this method happened long before mammals probably back among the dinosaurs. One of the troops in a battle in ancient Israel picked his troops by how they drank water. Those that lay down and drank like a horse were weeded out to those who cupped their hands and drank from the hand.

Great harvesting video as usual George, love the slowmow of your dog drinking water! Looks like you will have loads more bailing to do!

Hi George. Have been watching your channel for a long time now. I must admit, you put up some cracking videos, really interesting and fun for a non farmer like myself. I would love a job like yours. All the very best and take care.

You left grain on the tailgate after you'd tipped !! The farmer I worked for had us brush it off before leaving the grain store otherwise it would spill out over the yard as you drive off! He was a clean freak and wouldn't waste a single grain! We used a Chaseside, it was a Super Major, with a very long grain dozing blade to push the grain up, it was an awful machine. When we tipped grain at the main farm it went straight into a grain pit, it could take 18 tons in one go, the grain was then carried up and away by elevators to conveyors and then moved into a massive grain store. If you got a blockage it was a nightmare, it had to all be turned on and off in a certain order otherwise it could block. Cleaning the base of the pit was a nightmare job and was done at the end of each harvest. The farm was 3000 aces approx, all wheat on Essex clay. Great video, no criticism meant at all about the wheat on the tailgate it's just an observation. I remember too having to wind long skewers into the grain, to take air fans and plastic sheeting and that wasn't much fun. I messed up once, I'd tipped the grain and slowly pulled forward, and pulled the end off, or bent the top 4 inches of the tailgate as it was still buried under the grain!

Excellent video young man, Flo is waiting to have a drive I'm sure, the slo-mo was perfect and if I remember correctly cats tongues curl forward to drink although trying to get Flo and a cat to drink together probably not the best idea.
