This figure is a mixed bag,personally I feel like it’s a good figure but the rubbery plastic on the shoulders just hits me the wrong way.it’s still cool and also why the hell did they go through the time and effort sculpting an unmasked clone trooper and not paint it! One of the few good things about the new clone body is that you can actually get them to aim as opposed to just an awkward firing at the hip look. But that is immediately squandered when you're constantly paranoid about the elbow pads breaking. I want to like this figure, but theres just a lot of wrong to it.

I think my opinion may have even changed on this figure since I did my review. I will fully agree that it isn't perfect, especially the helmet. I don't see why we are getting the new P1 clone in this mold either. However, one of the major factors for me was the knee swivel to allow for a perfect crouching pose. After a few minor customizations (a video will be coming out on that soon) it really isn't half bad. I already made the commander from season 6 and having him, along with two modified Kamino security clones on the shelf just looks awesome! This figure is going to be a great base for any customizers I think, especially if you just swap the head out for a 3D printed/cast one. I already am banging out a custom ARC trooper for my OC legion using this mold and I gotta say, overall its growing more on me. My biggest issue is the helmet, but that's really it. Also, I figured out why the proportions on this figure feel....off. It's clear to me that they essentially ripped the 3D model from the new Battlefront II and used it to make this figure. The proportions are the same: Higher ab armor, smaller shoulders, more lanky design. I don't fault them for this, but it just is, as you say, different.

Sadly, Hasbro has already revealed new Aotc phase 1 clone trooper and he will be using this "animated" mold. Bly "mold" is by far the best representation of RotS clone trooper but we won't be seeing movie accurate mold any time soon

I kinda like the new mould, the knee pads are a problem, but they are tabbed in the back of the knees so if you pull them they can sit and settle below the knee, so when he kneels it looks more natural

mould degradation, JC. remember Wolfe's arms? how the pegs snap? also to recover the head, you need to boil the head and then pull the helmet gently off using blunt pliers

What is it with TBS and being non commital to a clone helmet sculpt. Fox had a realistic front and animated back as did Wolffe. The new ones have an oddly animated front and realistic back and they warp easily on the heads. Bly, Rex, Cody, and all the rest have amazing helmets. Why can't they use those? They made a Christmas clone with the old sculpt. Now I think they had the right idea here, but they should have made the elbows and knees work like the old 3.75s where the elbows were integrated into the bicep and the knees into the shin. Would at least look and pose a bit better. That or make them loose so they can rotate freely over the joint. Would love to get a few and add the old shoulders, loose the pads, and put a resin mold of the old helmet on it. Seen a few peeps on insta do it. Only thing is the height...

I personally love this figure, I am soooooo so so so so so so happy they changed the mold because I have had nothing but problems with the old mold, from the legs warping, the joints getting stuck, a lack of good articulation to create dynamic poses, etc. While I love the old mold clone figures, the mold is just very disappointing to me, and I think this new one is a major upgrade, not only in the articulation aspect, but also aesthetically. It’s less chunky and more skinny and lanky body, like those of the clone troopers from the clone wars, no hate here, just my opinion 🤷‍♂️

It’s not that the old mold is bad, but for some reason the articulation feels smoother with this newer one. My clones using the old molds always have problems with the articulation, but maybe that’s just me. Edit: I also think that part of me just prefers the clone wars style clone rather than the movie design, so there might be a little bias on my part.

So here’s my thought as to why there’s a new mold: mold degradation. The molds been out since 20...14? I think? That’s 6 years where we’ve gotten around 15-16 versions of the old mold and it’s been KOed to the moon and back. I honestly think the mold was starting to wear down, hence why were switching. But I could be entirely wrong

Cuz apparently the Bly/Rex arms are in a "different factory" than the normal clone body... which to me just sounds like a BS excuse to not take the extra initiative to give all subsequent clone releases the new arms.

@@someguy5926 91st recon trooper target exclusive. Fairly common to see. It uses the phase 1 body and phase 2 helmet. Not an antenna mold trooper. I have one. The antenna mold may be a knockoff.

@@Jcc2224 speaking of that 91st antenna trooper, I found a way to tell if it's a knockoff. Count how many black lines there are on the mouth grill compared to any other antenna mold. Friend of mine has been collecting the new knockoff antenna troopers of allieexpress and he says aside from a lacl of weathering, that's the only real difference in paint app.

I just got mando the other day I had a choice to get this guy or mando so I chose mando and I have no regrets about it I think both are equally amazing but I got to go with mando I do love clones but the mandalorian I think looks a little better. A little update I just grabbed mando same package but he has pins and two knees hips are good arms legs are both equally good as the old figures you should do a review on mando

This figure is polarizing to me. The proportions look very off, being too skinny. Not having the double joints also makes for it looking weird with the knees. They should've AT LEAST had the knee pads ON THE KNEES.

While I do think it was necessary to improve the original clone body, I think they did a poor job here. They should have just slightly changed the helmet, improved the shoulder articulation, and given the elbows the Rex/Bly treatment. Also if you are going to make a clone head, actually bother to to paint it.

I don't have the figure yet but I'm not a fan of the helmet sculpt. It's like the couldn't decide if they wanted to go animated or realistic and we got a bad looking in-between. Personally I would've rathered full realistic because all the other clones so far have been realistic. The Bly head is a near-perfect mold of the clone helmet at the scale so I don't know why the didn't just retool that head.

The helmet is just a huge turn off . He is a great figure but that head. I feel if they used the antenna mold clone helmet(of course they would have to make it bigger) it would be better. Or use the six inch shock trooper helmet. He looks like a 5POA figure without the gun.
