The undisputed champion of sim-racing ASMR videos drops another classic ! This video gets a 9/10 though as you did not use the "hello" scales which in my opinion are an integral part if not one of the main side characters of Sim Racing Garage .

Thanks for this great review Barry....As usual. The JCL's products are really really good in all points: Quality products, boxing (a masterpiece), Assembly, Customers Services. You 'll have the quality that you paid for. A french Company located in South-Ouest France.....JCL Product as good as the food and wines that you can find in this lovely area ! Vive la France!

The pedal base 90Deg supports on the sides @ 27:00 should be on the underside of the profile.
@cbz19566 жыл бұрын
It looks like all of the same pieces are from the Misumi catalog (except the mouse pad), so for anyone needing extra parts that match the 10mm slot width they're easily available. The con is they won't match perfectly because of the powder coating or whatever technique JCL is using for their finish, but you can get the parts in black anodize.

Hey Barry. A question...why do you refer to it as 80/20? Its PG40 in either 40/40 or 80/40 is it not or am i missing something?
@DiViNiTY13377 жыл бұрын
Back part of the pedal frame should have the short, outer profiles on the outside of the middle profile, not in under. That way you can adjust the height of the pedals both in the front and in the rear.
@simracinggarage30267 жыл бұрын
Yes, I corrected that. If you look at the segment that shows me mounting the tray to the mounts you will see this. Should have mentioned this correction in the video though.

The price on this is absurd. It's much cheaper to build your own.

Does anyone have the instruction manual for this rig?? I have purchased the JCL v2 rig with the V3 fury option, triple monitor stand etc.. and I have no idea how to assemble this beast.

What is the price of this cockpit
@silinusvers5 жыл бұрын
is the 80/20 really worth it, its not the price i'm concerned with so much as the looks. i know its dumb to be concerned about looks but the 80/20 rigs are just ugly. i'm leaning towards this one Extreme Simracing Cockpit because it looks to be the most sturdy for the price i just wish they sold it with out the seat like the simetik k2 which doesnt look so sturdy when you have the wheel stand extended. (and I am preparing to invest in DD wheel) but i'm still thinking about the 80/20 because in the end i am someone who does care about function and longevity. but ugggg I'm grinding my teeth every time I look at a 80/20 rig. I want to get into something that puts a smile on my face as much as I want something that works.
@321findus5 жыл бұрын
I've chosen to a build a rig from 80/20 mostly because of the option to customize it however I want. If I want a handbrake, I can add it anywhere I want. Likewise for gear shifters, monitor mounts, drink holders, button trays, fans and so on. I might get some more 80/20's which have one or several sides closed off (flat and smooth) and a couple of ones with curves for asthetic reasons. Looks less DIY that way. Hope this helps you decide.
The profiles are not proprietary at all. These are 8 series profiles with 10mm slot width and you can get all the same mounting hardware like for your 8mm groove profiles. Look at uk.misumi-ec.com, which I think is the supplier where JBL sources their parts. Of course misumi only sells to commercial customers ;)

Awesome review Barry, as usual, I am so glad I found your channel! How would you compare this kit to the Sim Lap P1, you recently reviewed?
@simracinggarage30266 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The P1 is a heavier cockpit. Both are very stiff and solid feeling. Either one would be a good option. With the caveat that the JCL uses a non industry standard profile. So if you want to add profile for mounts and such you will need to get the parts from JCL to stay within that ecosystem. Standard 40 series can be mounted to the JCL profile, but would recommend having the JCL T-Nut for that side of the mounting solution.
@despicablev59464 жыл бұрын
Sim Racing Garage does this still apply or does standard 40 series work in their profile?

their site charges 25,000 for the v4+DBOX when the v4 is 2500 and dbox on its own is like 9000, ignoring that both of those products are seriously way too much on their own, considering the simlab p1 is arguably more rigid less than half the price and theres motion platform products for less money than dbox with more DOF, the markup jcl wants for both of them together is insane, I feel like the only person willing to spend 25000 on a JCL rig is an oil prince that doesn't know any better

Very interesting and informative, but what's with Americans CONSTANTLY saying "go ahead" before saying what they did ----- baffling repeated use of excessive unnecessary words
@droors776 жыл бұрын
This is not what they are delivering! Its not powder coated, its not all in the kit , it barely holds my fanatec csl elite and squeaks like stepping on a mouse. All brackets are too soft and distort under load, probably wouldn't distort as much if the load dispersing washers weren't ommitted and i don't even know where the double brackets for under the steering are come from (the 4hole silver ones). JCL/Des must of had a special edition sent to him, because it seems he has extra parts that would at least kill some squeaks in that area.. The distributor has horrible communication and support knowledge, the office in france is worse. Poor quality, poor communication and support, unless you speak French and are in france, Stay away!
