New subscriber, great video, great racing and really awesome attitude about your competition. I’m trying to stay involved in the hobby but both my local tracks closed so now I’m pretty much just enjoying watching races so it’s great that you’re posting events that I normally wouldn’t get to see. Thanks

Great vid, I noted in the 4wd car you said you raised the inner camber link to reduce roll. Raising the inner link lowers the roll center which would make the car roll more in corners. Lowering the inner link raises the roll center and reduces roll.

It's called the astro "pile". in the UK we try to lay the astro down with the pile in the correct direction for which the track will be run, as not to make the cars do wire things like drifting wide or wandering on power.

I think it’s awesome that you explain your setup changes and why you did them Ryan. I love the hobby and have been in it for about 20 years . Ryan, how much aero effect are you seeing with your spoilers? Do you trim them for tracks, or do you have preset wings? I thought from flight school the coefficient of drag is greater under 60mph and therefore less beneficial. Great videos brother, thanks for breaking everything down so well.
@edwinwx2606 жыл бұрын
Try running with, and without wings, also slowly trim it down, it makes a huge difference in keeping with nose down, or letting it float.
@chadmorrell28537 жыл бұрын
A little follow up maybe a lower spur, but a more general setup advice you looked really fast on the back right switch backs, probably as fast as who won you want to tune your car to be good in 9/10 turns if possible not really good in one or two turns then slower in the rest... might have been the suspension and the unloading thing.

Hey Ryan, I kinda hope you go through your older Videos too! I have questions... First, Congrats on a great Day!! You looked good out there. As I mentioned in my previous comment on your newer Video, I'm Old School. In fact, I'm just OLD!! 😜 I have not Raced, even Semi-Pro, since 1997. The Rig's are DEFINITELY different!!! As you well know, Stock Class used to be very simple - 27 Turn Brushed Motor, Sealed Endbell, certain weight restrictions.... (Although a few of us figured out how to "tweak" the Endbell, carefully, for that extra bit of Timing Advance!!!) 😵😱😱 There were NO clever Electronica, to detect what we did.... Of course that's all WAY different today!! Being an Old Fart, I'm JUST finally starting to understand Brushless Motors!! Not completely yet..... For one, I NEVER REALIZED that 17.5's were SO fast!! Thanks to Über confusing specs lately, my best guesstimate puts 17.5 at about 2200-2300kv..... I run a 2400kv Brushless Sensorless Motor on my Wraith, and in 2S, it's SLOW!!! Now granted, my Wraith weighs about 14 POUNDS! But still, I can only get as much out of it, as a 30-35 Turn Brushed, as far as RPM. HOW ARE YOU GUYS DOING IT??? I'm also new to Lipos... I was always worried about them BLOWING UP!!! 💥💥💣🔥🔥💥!!!!!! I'm only a little more comfortable with them, not even through my first MONTH with them. I can't deny that I LOVE the fact that they will put out at LEAST 7.7v all the way through their Discharge Cycle!!! 👍👍 However, I still keep getting conflicting advice. 😵 HOW LONG can I keep one Charged??? I have the Lipo Cutoff in my ESC set to 3.4v... Is that OK? In your opinion. I ALWAYS Balance Charge. Is that Overkill?? During your 2WD runs, you mentioned running only a Rear Swaybar, and SOFTENING the Front Springs. (!!!!) In my Day, that would have given me SO MUCH Oversteer that the Car would be uncontrollable!! Are these new Buggies THAT much different?? I'm actually thinking about getting back into 1/8 Scale Buggies!! Not full Competition (I AM 54! Don't have the same reaction times), just some Club Fun. Haven't decided on Nitro or Electric yet - nowadays there DOESN'T seem to be any appreciable difference! I've been watching your Videos for awhile now, and realized that I never Subbed you. 😱 I just fixed that!! I hope I haven't overloaded you with questions. Even in these "kinder, gentler times", it's STILL not easy to get any good info out of Pros!!! It's not like I'd be going after them on the Track! You seem willing and very helpful. A rarety in ANY Sport. Thanks! Carmine 💥 ⛽

Our local track went turf last year, it's a lot of fun. Our is a higher pile than this track, pretty soft and spongey, but a ton of fun. Traction is always on so, if you mess up, it's all you. Teaches you a lot about setup if you want to keep competitive. Our local clay track is fun, but i'm over the mud and watering system. Cleaning tires after every run is a pain and the traction being dry for some heats and wet as hell for other heats, got old fast. Turf gives everyone the same advantage, just determines how well your kit is setup and how well you can drive
