Hi Justin, I'm a vetiver lover myself, and my favorite Terre D Hermès, after trying everyone from Tres Fraiche to Pure Perfum, is Vetiver Intense! In my taste, the most masculine and classy of them all.

@@arturobanuelos9189 They have similarities, for sure, but are quite different scents. The Guerlain is more old school & aromatic, whereas the TF is more modern, straight forward & easy to wear. Personally, I prefer the Guerlain, but both are great.

My latest vetiver crush is Tiger by Zoologist. Starts Timbuktu, ends sycamore. Very pleasant, smoky, tropical fruity vetiver. I have a LOT of vetiver frags though so I’m holding off for a while. I know I’ll grab a bottle eventually. It’s in my brain gnawing away at my willpower. Vetiris by Lublin is also a hidden gem - it smells like fresh morning air, which is a overused description, but this one actually really does. super naturalistic, price is decent too. And I fully agree that Lunar Vetiver is fantastic.

thx for continuing this series and revisiting "Vetiver" (feel free to add different angles to the other ingrediences/styles, too...🙂 - give them an inch, they take a yard...). I´d like to share "Vetiver veritas" by James Heeley: very straight, combining pure vetiver oil with mint (looots of mint) rounding it off (a little...) with lavender. Not to complex, kind of "in the face" (some say reminds them of aroma-therapy...) but outright fresh for the summer - turning vetiver bright. High and natural quality.

I just really like this series Justin. To be honnest; it's your content and I don't care if you revisit a note or a profile, or if you pick a new one. There are so many more perfumes within a style you already mentioned and so many other notes and profiles out there, you can make new content for a long time comming. Like all of us; if you ask somebody to pick 9 perfumes now and ask again a few months later, the chance is the picks will be different. Especialy with a collection the size you got. So if you ask me; do what suits you the best.

I do like vetiver (most of the time) but need to really gatekeep my small collection so it doesn't take over or start overlapping. The Encre Noir line are obviously good value, L'extreme, the regular and sport all have theor place, i probably wear the Sport most just for the versatility and daily wearability. L'Eau D'Issey vetiver is my favorite ginger scent, i think the ginger kind of dominates, but i dont mind, a really invigorating friendly scent that seems to have flown under the radar. I was tempted by Pays Dogon from Monsillage, like a sweeter sibling to Encre Noir, earthy vetiver but a subtle sweetness from the dates and hibiscus? But it doesn't stand out enough for me to add to my fragrances. I will probably get it if/when i finish the regular Encre Noir. Price osnt everything but it's hard to beat that insane Encre Noir value though. Kumkat Wood had a little too much 'funk' for my tastes.

"Once you smell vetiver, you CAN'T unsmell it" That's a slight summary of my vetiver experience. Original Vetiver led me down the vetiver rabbit hole. I love the scent but I discovered the criticisms of it not being a true vetiver. Guerlain Vetiver was next. When I first smelled it. I hated it! I put it up for sale the same day I got it. Went to Macy's the next day to smell Tom Ford's Grey vetiver. It reminded me a lot of Guerlain, but more...grey and relaxed if you will. I liked it a lot! I asked for more vetivers, and the clerk let me smell Acqua Di Gio Eau de Parfum. Loved it! Bought it (not from Macy's) I revisited the Guerlain after that vetiver tour, and to my surprise It smelled not just good but amazing! To my nose it was better than TF grey vetiver. Maybe I just need to get the 1st few sprays out. But I took my for sale ad down so fast. It's an absolute favorite now. Oddly enough this whole experience increased awareness of the actual vetiver in Original Vetiver and any other fragrance that has the note. Love it!

I wouldn’t worry about getting Sultan Vetiver. It’s a super animalic vetiver that is only wearable after 3-4 hours after you spray it. The open and mid was described by my wife as “a drunk bum that pissed himself”. It actually sort of does smell like that. But it mellows out to a smoky vettiver after awhile and it’s nice. Definitely not a compliment getter.

@@stayfreshproductions You’re a true fraghead sir. I like it after a few hours, but it’s definitively challenging. I like challenging Oud, this is something different with the urine smell. When it dries to a smoky vetiver it’s wearable. Still glad I have it though. Jomashop is the place to get Nishane fragrances, I think I paid $80 for it during a sale.

I absolutely love vetiver and I feel I need to sugest a bit of a hidden vetiver gem: me gustas, by Jacques Zolty. It is terribly marketed (by reading the briefing you would guess its a gourmandy coffee scent) which is reflected on the fragrantica reviews (many people say it isnt what they expected). But it is great for what it is: leafy green, vetiver and a slightly warmer base that makes it just so confortable in the dry down... Would definetely put it into the enthusiast tier. This is a great brand, may I say. Severo by Zolty is pretty much the best cola note ever for me... Yes, better then THAT roja
