I understand green speeds, but I get lost at 7:02 when you state the previously dot speed was at 12 seconds. You then say that would be half, if 6 (six) seconds for a grid is full, which goes from 50% to 33%? Basically, how did the dot speed lead to the amount to move my putt left of right? This is the only thing I can't figure out in all of your videos. I use the wind gauge formula all the time!
@steveirons28334 жыл бұрын
I listened to that part 3 times and I don't get it either! I thought 4 dot speed was 100% and 6 was 50%

+NSL The possible %'s are 0, 10, 25, 33, 50, 66, 75, 100. Obviously it can keep going but the increments are same (i.e. 210%, 233%).

hi jason.....ive been using this system with great results.....can you just confirm for me the amount of seconds you count regarding percentage....i count full box.....but im confused with the percentages....your help i would appreciate alot.....
@Young467 жыл бұрын
Everyone's dot render at different speeds, so what I consider to be 100% (4 seconds to go half a grid) may not be the same for you. You just have to play around with it and find out what 100% is for you then build off of that.

Do you caculate the % off each course? Based on their speed. Or do you always use the same %.

What browser do you use? For putting, you can "right click" when you're on the green to "zoom in" and get a great close up of your putt. Works in IE and Chrome, but not Maxtheon.

I'm with the previous comment: a "percentage" of what? Your math is okay, but the percentage is is in reference to what? I remember you saying "4 is 100%", but ...of what? And how does dot speed connect with percentage? I'm putting by the seat of my pants and pretty fair, but somehow distance seems to affect what I'm seeing as an angle to the left or right of straight at the hole.

At the 3:46 mark you say half the grid is 10 but then you say the whole grid is 15...I'm so confused. If half is 10 then the whole is 20, correct? Maybe I'm missing something. Also is the whole box 4 or 8? Thanks!
@Young467 жыл бұрын
Half is 10, full grid is 15 and 3/4 of a grid would be 12.5. Every grid thereafter is increments of 10 (i.e. 2 Grids = 25, 2 1/2 Grids = 30).

I think I'm beginning to understand your break calculation watching this. I do not understand your speed selection on the meter. You strike at about 25% of the meter but how does that get the ball to roll 15 feet. 25% of 30 is 7.5. I'm missing this entirely. Is there a video on calculating putt speed. Or Maybe your metter is different than what I see in the screen on your video????
@Young468 жыл бұрын
+Jim Sutton An easy way to calculate green speed is to take 9 divided by the green speed then minus or add for the elevation. For example, on tourney 12 greens with a putt that is 15ft and downhill 3 inches, the base green speed would be .75 (9/12) then you subtract .03 (the 3 inches of downhill elevation) which makes it .72 (or 72%). From there you take the distance and add the elevation (15 + -3 .... 12) then multiply that number by the green speed (12 x .72) which gives you an adjusted distance of 8.64ft which is about 29% on a 30ft putting scale. Hopefully that helps.

Where are you getting the 33% and 66%s from
@museicluvva85293 жыл бұрын
dots moving at 6 per grid/square is 100% , so dots moving slower, say 12, is 50% as they are half speed. so the 33 and 66 are percentage of 6 dots. it isnt complicated. i think the box size has changed however since this video was made as it no longer seems to be 8 wide if half square is still 10, so the numbers given here will need some adjustment
