@dinavienna "what a pity they got separated in totalitarianism and ideology" You mean you wish Austria still occupied Poland? It's not like we were friends or something.
@ariiski45013 жыл бұрын
austria has tamed the cultures of the countries it colonized…they just have stolen our Slavic culture and try to add us to their colonizer western world

I don't think any folk group costumes can out-color the Polish. I wonder if I can get a folk dance going here in New Mexico--its not exactly close to the land of kielbasa and pierogi (and I mean Chicago), you know. Folk dancing is a funner way to stay in shape and you learn about your culture. Jenkuye!!

windstorm1000 You completely got that last word wrong buddy. XD! Where did you think dziękuje was close to being spelled like that. And this isn’t even real Polish dancing, just some made up version of real Polish dancing

how interesting - there is such an artificial separation between "East" and "Central" Europe when this style of dance and music really isn't that far from what Austrian regional folk dances can be like. even the costumes bear some resemblance (blouse&corset, skirt style). I think the "Eastern" countries and Austria had quite a bit more in common culture wise (apart the language) than Austria has with some "Western" European countries.what a pity they got separated in totalitarianism and ideology
@ariiski45013 жыл бұрын
because austria has tamed the cultures of the countries it colonized

@@ariiski4501 that s not true .. the Slavic folklore is way more fun and rhythmic than the Austrian one (which often is about yearning to see one S Love again that lives across the next mountain - mountain folks lol )

@sylwiatime of course a union would have to be based on consent. There were a lot of Polish ppl who were nationalist, and there were a lot of Polish ppl who were monarchist. So the latter most likely felt like "we" were friends (I have mixed heritage with one Polish-Austrian side, in fact). And few Polish except for the ideologically blinded ones would deny the monarchy was a million times better than the Soviet occupation

I come from Poland. It's not polish dance - looks like mix American Country/polish dance and dress from Rio de Janeiro Carnival ( sure not from Poland )

@dinavienna Funny, Germans too say that Prussia was great and blame its ruin on Polish nationalism. All ppl proud of their empires do that. Yes, there were some aristocrats on the payroll of Austria, Russia or Prussia, and there were millions Poles who weren't free. Even tsarist Russia was better than Soviets. Hardly a compliment to Austria. Galicia was the poorest region in Europe, worse than Ireland. 50,000 ppl starved a year - thanks to your taxes. Don't flatter your great empire too much.
