This was a great show. I remember the "Marty vs JD" discussions. I was completely on board with Camp-Marty, until the final evening. JD stole the show, and ultimately helped the boys press a great album. Respect where it's deserved.

it's no suprise he won the competition and became part of the band,i heard he got fired and later re-hired,they can never replace michael but j.d is the closest thing they got and as everyone is getting older the younger guy can stretch their careers out,without him they would have probably faded away by now

I worked w/ INXS a while back - while JD was with them, there will never be another Michael, but i will say, JD did a killer job at those gigs. Yep, the house band for the show was lame!

That's a fact‼️ Once the original lead guy leaves.. no one can replace that person. Same as with Lou Gramm from Foreigner. They might as well quit while ahead. JD Fortune doesn't have the same voice nor charisma as MH did. They were best to get rid of him, with his drug problems.

He does have a killer voice and I am a big JD fan. But perhaps the difference in age with inxs was a problem. And Michael had grown into fame with the original band. There is a lot to be said for growing up in the industry with your band mates. You get used to each other. JD needs that kind of situation because his talent is so great. It's a shame to see it untapped.

I think it's more that he developed a really big ego. I watched some interviews of him after he left the band where he was like "I'm the lead singer. How could they kick me out? I sold millions of albums." At the end of the day he was and would always be a fill in, never the true lead singer. If he was humble and gracious about it I'm sure he would have had a great career as their lead singer. But he seemed to develop a big head, and the other guys were probably like "Who the hell does he think he is? We are INXS." It's one thing to have a huge ego when you are Michael Hutchence, and another thing entirely to have a huge ego when you are filling in for him. That plus the drugs lead to his downfall. That's my speculation anyways.

Marty reminds me of the legendary Eli Wallach audition for Madge in From Here to Eternity . The stellar talent is undeniable but as one of the execs wives opined “ He is not Private Maggio .” Sinatra was . That is what I say about the auditions . Marty wasn’t INXS . JD Fortune was !

Remember watching this I wanted Marty to win he fit the band better instead of JD he didn't fit the band in my opinion... BUT no one can ever replace the charisma,unique voice,sex appeal,moves,looks etc...like MH....... Hey, MH was INXS without him its not the same and vice versa they work well together and they grew up and were like brothers......

Siento disentir. No tengo nada en contra de chico. Quiero decir que soy fan de INXS pero desde que Michael Hutchence líder de INXS se fuera. INXS por mucho que se hubiera hecho. Jamás pero jamás sería INXS. Repito no he oído nada de este joven que pretendieron que fuera la cara visible de la banda australiana. Lo juro hoy ahora mismo lo acabo de oír por primera vez.
