J.D. Vance is ignorant regarding how unbelievable his story about geese are to the seasoned hunter. I personally stumbled upon some wild geese while canoeing in an inlet in WA State with my white Uncle. Geese are much bigger than you think up close and they are NOT afraid of us. That large friggin' bird was quite imposing, especially because geese are monogamous, and we got threatened by the spouse too. To make a long story short, we got the "F" out of there, backwards oaring as fast as we could. So I can tell you from first-hand experience, if people were trying to kill geese without a gun, there'd be folks in the hospital. Damn thing is practically a dinosaur.
