In 1974, I was pregnant. My parents didn't know. I knelt and prayed and asked God what I should do. He wrote in front of me," thou shall not kill." I am blessed to have the three sons I had prayed for every night believing God would answer. The fruit of my womb is blessed. I have volunteered for pregnancy centers. I wrote and told Amy Coney Barrett before the Dobbs case. I was so thankful God was glorified. I believe my letter had an influence. God bless you both. Thank you Eric.

As a kid in the late 60's early 70's my sisters had 2 friends that both became pregnant. Both sets of parents pressured their daughters to have abortions. One girl gave in and resented her parents. She ran away and lived with us for a short time. The other refused to have the abortion. She was kicked out of her house and lived with us when she had her son. I came close to being an abortion but mom changed her mind at the last moment. Then when my parents were in their last days, I was the one who took care of them. Who would have been there for them if mom had followed through with her original plans? Abortion is evil and destroys soooo much!!!!!!!

If you actually take the time to read catholic and orthodox theology you will see that they DO worship Christ alone. The orthodox are actually the church that gave us the Bible. The Greek church fathers who form the backbone of Orthodox theology actually read the Bible as native Greek speakers, unlike the Reformation leaders who were reading the Bible in Latin and long separated from the original environment and vernacular.

Catholics don't understand that. Christianity doesn't need a religion (Catholicism) between you and Christ. Why is Christianity different? Why isn't it a religion? Because it is a relationship between you and our Creator. You serve Him. You don't serve yourself, nor other humans, like religions do.

James 1:27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. (ESV)
@joshbull6233 ай бұрын
@@WalkingLegacy The problem is people who are not leaders have a natural desire to be led. I am not saying this is an absolute thing which is definitive, it is more like an instinct. Even as an extreme introvert who would rather not interact with any people at all, when I must, it is comforting to know there is instruction and guidance and responsible hierarch should things go wrong because while I am capable of these things, I greatly dislike such positions and they make me uncomfortable. If you are part of a corporation, leo, hospital, school, military or something structured like that you know the feeling even if you never thought about it. While on active duty, all I thought mattered was getting out because of how little choices I had and how annoying that felt. However, even when on leave at home, you grow to miss the structure, order, fact that you were not responsible for 'everything' going on in your life, the routines and balance it affords, the clear path forward presented by bigger picture thinkers so that you can focus on the smaller picture without worry. Church should truly should be a community of equals that wish to share their experiences in regards to their relationship with their creator but among their fellow children of god. But almost organically, positions of authority and with it, power mongering will form. Until we evolve or edit out of this psychological and neurological predisposition, things like the Catholic church will always exist because allot of people need that even if they don't want it and some cannot really handle or want to handle the more freedom based analogue you see in many Christian sects and such options might make them inclined to opt out of faith in any productive or positive capacity instead.
