I love that, in the end, it was Naruto who inspired Jiraiya to make one last effort and succeed in his mission. And he’s also the reason Jiraiya could die happy and satisfied with his life.

I'm 35, I read manga for decades now, seen masterpieces by the dozens. Jiraiya's death is still one of the saddest thing I've read. The fact that, during his final moments, he believed himself to be a failure who raised the hope of Mankind. But he failed everything. And you just want to scream to Jiraiya that it isnt true, that he was a fantastic sensei, a brilliant Ninja and a perfect mentor.

I think he already knows that, but Jiraiya knows that he can never replace Nawaki and Dan in Tsunade's heart. That is why as time past by, Jiraiya never tries to get the girl that he wishes to be his wife, instead he just want to be always there by her side. Jiraiya always knows that tsunade has a feelings towards her, but Jiraiya is afraid that tsunade will suffer again like what she had in the past when the time he is gone, and that is what happened right now.

You guys completely understood Jiraiya's reasons for his inarguably reckless actions. It's great. I love watching you guys for this very reason. The brothers finally fight. After one emotional fight, we're just pushing even further on the pedal by getting the culmination of Sasuke's goals so far. These couple of arcs are just so great.

I’m so glad you understood the real purpose of Jiraiya’s “desperation” of defeating the Akatsuki. He always saw himself as a failure: unable to stop Orochimaru from leaving the village, he was given the news that Yahiko, Konan and Nagato died in the war, unable to rescue Tsunade from depression, unable to save Hiruzen who was also killed by his best friend, unable to save Minato and Kushina, then knowing that his students were the ones responsible for everything that has pursued Naruto and was forced to fight them. That’s what I admire of Jiraiya, even if he thought of himself as a failure he was always trying to do the right thing and was the main responsible for many of the values and character of Naruto’s development viewing him as his own grandchild. He died thinking he hadn’t accomplished nothing and yet smiles imagining the title of his next tale. Shit, I’m getting emotional, RIP Ero-sennin

What if the great lord elder had a prophecy that he envisioned never came to be and for the first time in a while he was wrong. I remember orouchimaru biting jiraiya in the 3way deadlock. What if after he got his arm blown off the supressing chakra from jiraya of the curse mark he never knew had released orouchimaru making him join the fight had a reunion on both sides making orouchimaru give him chakra man would be pretty cool to see in a one shot. But it's just an envision that never came to be. And the only reason orouchimaru can be released if someone was near death that the chakra they have now isn't enough to supress him from coming out. Woudnt change anything fpr the main storyand we get to see orouchimaru be forced to join the fight making this his second encounter to pain and having a moment with jiraiya judging him in the state he's in out of all the places to be released it had to be here.

I always found it crazy that Jiraya could remember these randoom shinobi and the injuries he inflicted on them decades ago. I wonder if he is one of these people who have a photographic memory and just remember everyone they encounter.
