I've had one of those for years and am pretty knowledgeable about them. if you want to add power, you need bigger mechanical fuel pump and injectors, with a bigger turbo optional. For just a mild bump, straight pipe it with 2" pipe. They'll accept 30x9.5 without mods but anything bigger needs cutting, which becomes a headache real fast, with the seats sitting above the wheel well.
@clintbusuttil48483 жыл бұрын
What kind of injector and pump upgrade could be done on these? Do the ones from the 4M40 fit the 4D56?
@geoffbell1663 жыл бұрын
@@clintbusuttil4848 No the 4m40 pump wont fit,but you dont need it,2.5" exhaust and shorten wastegate,turn the fuel up and it got well enuff,i had a Pajero SWB manual for over ten years,and put a clutch and 2cambelts waterpumps in it,and serviced every 5000kms,i was a logger then and used to tow big trailer loads of wood all the time,the 4D56T is a better motor imo than the 2.84m40,they have roller rocker on the cam,and are cheap on diesel,main thing is keep cooling system good,mine had big copper radiator not this plastic crap.

@iro-huncarguy83673 жыл бұрын
I think it needs a slight lift kit, maybe a 10mm spacer for the wheels to help with it being so skinny and tall. From seeing this in the video I think it's very easily possible to do. You might have to cut away some little bit away from the front of the steering wheels on the front axle. Behind them seemed fine. It's a cool little toy though, I like it

You seem scared of it falling over sideways. The L300 ( Delica ) 4x4 model before yours was capable of tilting 44 degrees from horizontal, according to the Mitsi specs. Drove one for 34 years, and you fall out of your seat before you reach the 44 degrees mark. They have a low centre of gravity. Hilux has a big clearance between the axles, which means in a high centre of gravity, and a tendency to fall over. I now have one like yours. Because of the limited wheel travel, they tended to have LSD's on the rear. To test, jack one rear wheel up, chock the front wheels, put it out of gear, and let off the handbrake. You should find it hard but possible to revolve the jacked up wheel. Feels like the handbrake is on. If someone has put normal hypoid oil in there, they you have a problem. LSD's have a gold coloured lable stuck on the diff. casing, viewed from the rear, usually covered over with dirt. Stop driving it like a girl.
