They're similar in many aspects but the differences are definitely significant enough where it's easy to prefer one over the other. And while I prefer the 5 Sports (as I don't have much of a history with SKXs) I can see the appeal of the OG orange SKX! Rafael

I've got the 5. I switched the case back to a solid one as it's thinner and makes the watch wear just a little bit better. I do wish it came with a tapered bracelet like the old jubilee style. That's probably the next change I'll make. I might switch the bezel to a coin edge, I'm considering gold

Nice to hear you're making the SRPD59 your own! Rafael

I took the guts out of the 5KX and put it in a SKX013 case complete with a screw down crown, lume pip for bezel, and sapphire. See my shorts on my channel for a preview. Stunning sunburst orange dial

Great idea! All the advantages of the 5KX with the beloved looks of the SKX. Were there any issues fitting the newer movement into the SKX case? Rafael

Can u plz tell the difference b/w Srpd59 amd srpd59K1. Im confused as the srdp59 is double in price than srpd59k1
@Bespokeunit Жыл бұрын
Hey there, Those two are the same watch. Where are you seeing such a large discrepancy in price? Also, the "K1" part of that reference numbers appears to be slightly made up. With the SKX model that is now discontinued, "K1" (for example, SKX007K1) at the end of the reference would have indicated a watch that is made outside of Japan and which employs a rubber band. As you can see, none of these apply to the Seiko 5 Sports SRPD59. So again, I think the SRPD59K1 you saw is a mistake. Rafael

Simple google search. K1 is for markets other than japan, J1 is for Japan market. Usually because of the date wheel languages and strap package, etc.

Is the size of both are the same? Looks smaller with black strap on skx

The cases for these two are essentially identical. Rafael

Screwdriver? Not surprised you scratched it.. You know there is a dedicated tool??
@Bespokeunit2 жыл бұрын
I couldn't be bothered to buy a dedicated tool as screwdriver usually does the job.

@@Bespokeunit Ok, got it. It is a very small investment though and works great.. but you know that. If a screwdriver works for you that's fine of course. 🙂

Honestly, I'm sure I'll pick one up eventually. Any one in particular you suggest/can link? Rafael

Durable tool watch vs. overpriced fashion watch. Talk about a no-brainer!

Calling the 5 Sports an overpriced fashion watch is a bit gratuitous, in my opinion. Rafael

@@Bespokeunit Not in the least! They took away the screw down crown, the ISO Certification, and all of the charm of the 7S26 movement and replaced them with what exactly?? What is so appealing about hand winding aside from just one more thing that can go wrong and need servicing? And they fancied up the dial for what purpose?? Answer: To make it a fashion watch. Then they have the gaul to charge more money for it? For a lesser watch?? Nothing good about that!
